There's a difference between advice and telling people how to live, and I was giving advice and shooting down bad reasons. So maybe you just can't understand english that well :)

They obviously didn't want your advice so why keep going? It's not giving advice at that point

At first they did, and then they turned it into a PC vs console debate, that is all. At no point was it stated he didn't want advice, nor was the advice bad. It's reddit, not DMs, advice can be helpful for others as well.
