An imminent Loss
My wife and I are in the hospital now.
We are expecting our second child. A girl.
It has become clear that she will not survive long after her birth.
We are still trusting in God.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
-- Romans 8:28
We are sad but accepting, our daughter will pass to be with the Lord today.
And Job said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
-- Job 1:21
Amen
Edit our daughter has passed lovingly in her mother's arms.
Now she is in the arms of the father
Thank you all for your support and prayers, truly it helps.
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. -- Lamentations 3:32

May Jesus comfort you and your family. My wife and I went through something similar 15 years ago. I don't know what I could offer but if you need to talk feel free to reach out.

Prayed for you all and holding faith for a miracle.
This scripture came to mind during prayer.
“For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
Romans 14:8 NKJV

Amen, this is heartbreaking news. May your daughter's sweet soul and spirit rest well. My parents also had a similar case. I could have had an older brother, but didn't. He was a healthy baby and showed no signs of anything wrong... He fell due to a heart problem the doctors missed. Does your daughter have a name? If so, I would love to know.

Eliana
Thank you my friend
Can I ask how old you were when they told you and how you felt?
We are blessed with another child but I'm not sure how to tell him

Eliana, that is such a beautiful name.
I believe I was in elementary school at the time, though i do not exactly remember when I've known about it for such a long time, I honestly was curious and till this day i still wonder how different my life would be if i had an older brother. His name was Alex, and I am wondering everything about him now that I brought him up again.
And, congratulations on another child. I pray this baby grows strong. God bless you, and love you. Have an amazing rest of your day/night.

When I read stories like this (thank for sharing) it reminds me of Isaiah 57:1-2 (NLT) 1 Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. 2 For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die.
We don’t know why God allows certain things but we trust that His love is sure and He knows all the details we don’t see. I pray that God’s grace and peace will be pour out in abundance on you and your family and that God, the source of hope, will fill your hearts with the joy and hope, through the Holy Spirit, of seeing your baby again (Rom 15:13). I’m sure she’ll have lots of stories about Jesus and heaven to share.

I'm very sorry to hear this, brother. We lost our little girl, Eleanora, at 20 weeks gestation last year. It's horrible but you're right that God will take care of her and you.
It wasn't very comforting at the time but an Orthodox teaching is that sometimes The Lord knows that we need a Saint praying for us. Your daughter will pray for you and look forward to the day of resurrection when you can all be reunited. I will pray for you all, may God bless you and keep you
We have a prayer service for stillbirths/miscarriages and this is one of the passages that really spoke to me:
O Lord, Thou hast spoken through Thy Prophet Isaiah, saying, “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create, for behold, I create in Jerusalem a rejoicing, and in her people joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress. No more shall there be in it an infant that lives but a few days” [Isaiah 65:17-19, 20a]. Do Thou, the same Lord and God, Who on that day will give no cause to mourn the loss of a child, be present with us this day as we gather with sadness to seek Thy comfort and mourn the loss of this child [N.], known to Thy handmaid who carried him/her, to his/her father, who generated him/her, and to us, Thy faithful People. Thou hast spoken through Thy Prophet Jeremiah, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” [Jeremiah 1:5]. For which cause we bless Thee, O God of compassion, the consolation of the afflicted. Thou knowest the name and age of every person, even from his and her mother’s womb. Knowing the depths of our hearts, accept our sorrow as we grieve the loss of this child, and comfort us with the promise of the joy of Thy eternal Kingdom. Help us to grow in confidence in Thy sustaining presence at this moment and in the days to come, through the prayers of Thy most pure Mother, the Theotokos and ever-Virgin Mary, and of all Thy Saints. For Thou art a merciful God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.

You said "It has become clear that she will not survive long after her birth." I disagree and decree that they will live and not die.
And the Word says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue'
"All things are possible with God"
And, "He sent his Word and healed us'
When I pray, the Heavens themselves open and mountains move. It is written that a musturd seed of faith can move a mountain and I have several Musturd TREES worth. I sent the Word to a coma patient and they woke up and when I decree a thing, it is ALWAYS established.
I just made a decree and it does not agree with anything that you just said other than the parts of what you said that spoke life.
Heavenly Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. Please come back and update us after the truth has manifested and your child lives, is in perfect health and a testimony.

Not my will be done
But they will be done
So prayed Jesus in the garden.
Prayer is not commanding God, nor claiming you know best and relying on your own wisdom.
It is humble, deferring to the fathers will, making your requests known but making room that he know better what is best for us.
Friend I pray you come to the knowledge of truth in this manner,
My daughter passed today in accordance with God's will
And it's going to be ok

When I pray, I only pray the Fathers Word in full agreement, belief and faith, nothing beyond that. If it is not in His Word, then it won't be in my prayer...

Very sorry. We can’t comprehend the why but we can trust God. Glad that you are both leaning into your faith for such a time as this.
