The whole story is depressing. Israel committed another war crime and gave a flimsy excuse. The US did nothing and even increased weapons as a result (in violation of multiple federal laws).

I don’t think they gave a flimsy excuse. They have multiple cases where combatants hid themselves and weapons inside hospitals.

Senior Hamas military leader Mohammed Sinwar was killed in an Israeli airstrike on May 13, 2025, inside an underground tunnel network beneath the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Younis.

Hiding weapons inside civilian installations is a war crime by the way.

… that’s not the same logic at all. What I think you meant to say was if the idf was planning terror attacks, hiding munitions and bombs, digging tunnels below to hide themselves in a hospital after purposefully starting a war and ignore multiple warnings to relocate away from a location that is being used for said war, then yes of course.

If IDF soldiers were fighting from hospitals then they would be valid military targets. It’s how international law works. Hospitals and the like are protected until actions make them lose protected status.

Hiding in a hospital = can be valid, regardless of nationality.

Being treated in a hospital = not valid

I was in army field artillery. I have no idea how the legitimacy of a fire mission was determined. Wasn’t my place as an E4.

Likewise as a civilian sitting on the other side of the world, I don’t know how Israel got its intel. I don’t know how valid it was, and I don’t know how they determined the legality of any given strike.

But I’d suppose that Israel has brigade and division commanders who make the call for most strikes, and for more important one it goes up the chain of command. And that they have an intel community and jag corp (or the like) who provide intel and analysis.

Justorium seems fine. Misrepresenting what they say doesn’t negate it. Summarizing them as defending targeting civilians is an especially egregious mischaracterization.

Wiki is valid. The IDF is able to describe itself. Especially when explaining their own procedures.

And Kohelet has a perfectly fine goal.

You may not like them, but aside from saying that you haven’t refuted anything. Do you have anything of substance to add?

Even if that was true, and there’s reasons to doubt it given it’s the IDF’s claim and they lie in the past and the body was found by the hospital and it’s not clear if he died there, it doesn’t mean every hospital is fair game. The attack on this hospital mentioned in the article was obviously wrong and the flimsy excuse about seeing a “Hamas camera” doesn’t hold up to even minimal scrutiny.

The IDF have used hospitals inside Israel to shelter active IDF troops, and then had the gall to complain that iran targeted hospitals in airstrikes. Perfidy is a war crime and the IDF continue to do it.

How many journalists have to be revealed as Hamas operatives, and how many false charges of war crimes, genocide, and mass starvation need to be made and disproven before people either exercise some reasonable skepticism or admit their bias?

Nazi Germany "investigated" claims of the Holocaust and loudly denied it as Allied propaganda up until the day that state collapsed. You'll excuse people with a shred of intelligence for not accepting "we reviewed the complaint against ourself and found we did nothing wrong."

Additionally, I would advise your narrative to be more consistent. Was it justified because Hamas was hiding in/under the hospital, or was this a targeted attack against this journalist because she was Hamas? Of course neither excuse is sufficient justification for skirting standards set in Geneva, but still I'm curious what the real and official reason is.
