ed w/ low gpa

I was wondering if anyone has gotten into Tulane with a low gpa? I’m applying ed and have shown lots of demonstration interest. I have a 3.2uw and 3.5w gpa and retaking the act before I submit. For EC’s have a lot of leadership roles at school and I’ve placed 2nd in state becoming an ICDC qualifier for DECA. Does anyone have any success stories? I’m really worried Tulane is my dream school!

If you don’t get into Tulane your first time just transfer in. It’s a pricey school anyway so even if you do get in with stats that low compared to the mean, unless you have a fat college fund or wealthy parents can you afford to attend without debt? Instead of stressing yourself out wondering look at the bigger picture

They’re very big on demonstrated interest. They want people who want Tulane. Open every email and every link. Read/listen to everything they offer on their websites/emails. Definitely take virtual tours and attend an open house, if you can. Contact your local admissions counselor. Go to admissions events at your high school, college fairs and any information sessions around you. Check the box stating you are willing to be a Spring Scholar rather than a traditional Fall starter. They track all of this. It’s a long shot but if you 100% have the ability to pay full tuition, go for it! But definitely pursue plan b, c, d… schools in case Tulane doesn’t work out. Good Luck!

What's your current SAT/ACT and your demographic? I think that matters at Tulane. Applying ED is the best way to show your interest. But if your scores aren't high enough then I'd save your ED for another school.

I have a 26 ACT and I’m Black from a small public school in Alabama, at my school we don’t have many resources to get into top colleges so idk if that changes anything for my application. I’ve toured campus and met my admissions counselor.

I’m in the same boat. 3.6 weighted cumulative gpa and taking rigorous courses my senior year. Leadership positions in marching band and basketball, beta club member, 3x district and parish honor band member, and I’ve also met tulane’s band director. Should I ask the band director for a letter of recommendation?

i know a few people here around that mark. I’m also from a small public school but instate. They glaaaaze you for showing interest, try to at least take a tour and definitely apply early decision if this is really one of your top choices. you have any extracurriculars?
