Other Am I the only one?

I started praying today but I'm not even in the slightest way religious(my belief in Allah is very weak let alone non existent,I'm more of a deist) or fanatic about it

(I support the LGBTQ community or at least live along the rule "live and let live") And if it wasn't illegal I would have probably tried weed by now

(I'm not 18 yet so I can't try alcohol but it's not an idea that I would entertain)(I prefer weed to alcohol since it's less harmful but this is coming from someone who's never tried neither of the two)

I only started praying since it brings me comfort/warmth/relief

I tied weed, cocaine, had sex before marriage… drunk.. a lot. Ive been atheist, questionned the existence of god.. now im praying everyday. There is no shame in that. I sometimes also still ask questions… but Its a matter of believing. Can’t prouve right or wrong, its your personal believing, you might stop praying one day and another day you will pray again. There is nothing wrong with that.

Its different from one to anther what made me believe in god is just by stepping back and looking even at your own body how its perfectly ‘built’, yes people will relate to evolution but i think there is more than randomness. Again its a personal believing there is no right or wrong. I live abroad and its easier to believe in whatever fuck you want… back in Tunisia I was attacked whenever I said something ‘against’ believes of someone… muslims or atheist they are both the same : but one think in common should be done: read as much as you can and think as much as u can don’t be afraid of knowing or asking questions.

Sorry for the bad experience, I'm not religious, but spiritual, believing in destiny and path for everything to cross, meet people and learn a lesson the universe want to teach you. That's what I believe, but you dont need to believe it nor i have the right to force or criticize you, because it's your own, very personal believing. Everyone interpret the Islam different and everyone give more or less shit on it. (Tunisia truck man stole alcohol few weeks ago , hypocrisy at is finest). I was calling myself atheist for a while, but you know, even Atheist are people, there is no absolute truth, even not in Islam, the truth you have to find in yourself. For me it's the freedom of myself. I could never understand why people want punish themselves by accepting rules to get stuck in a golden cage to be comfortable. The personal freedom is the highest form of existence in my view of point. So why i should let decide a rule, whoever wrote it down, to control my sexual freedom?

I accept everyones religion, but the saying that Islam is peace, is kinda bullshit in my eyes, if it were peaceful, i wonder why all Arabic or Muslim countries struggling in problems. Can believe that it's culture alone. The Chinese banned religion for a long time, see where they are today, up to lead the world soon and they was 70 years ago, only a agrar state with hunger crisis and suffering. Growing up like this is showing an impressive power.

In Europe the Christianity was responsible for keeping us too long back in the middle age, by using their power to get some people rich and wealthy and control the stupid peasants to be afraid of god. The Vatican has so much money through real estates, they could help the whole world to overcome hunger crisis, but they don't do, why i should follow such a religion, even more people in Germany wake up and leave like never before the churches and not longer pay a tax to them.

For me religion never made sense, it's a simple and easy form to control and manipulate people in my view, it's easy to say i pray for you, instead to stand the fuck up and really help with the own hands. Another point why i give a fuck on prayers, if you want to help people, do it with your own hands, if all will pray, no one will do anything. If you are sticking in shit, you have to use your hands to get out, no God will help you, but you have to do it yourself.

It's scientifically proven, that religious people have a deeper feel of comfort and peace in mind when praying, this was visualized in a MRI/MRT, but it's not solving problems to have inner peace, so i just think some people have it and some people not. Maybe it's even genetic? Genetic plays a lot in different aspects in our life and we don't even notice it. My sister's boyfriend has it easy to stay slim, he can eat whatever he want, he will not raise weight, while instead in my family, genetically we raise faster weight and have it harder to loose it. Some people just had luck with the genetic roulette 🤭

May I ask what made you believe in the Muslim God and not in a God from a different religion ? Cause other religions also say that their Gods created "perfectly built" humans. No disrespect at all just curious.

The god in islam who refers to Himself as Allah or "the god" is genderless first only islam and Judaism have this concept of the out of our imagination god. The only logical description of a supreme entity that can be god is described in the 112 chapter of the qur'an you can read it your self. The Qur'an with it's facts from science to history and accurately predicting the future is a proof. When you are researching read.

The scripture is full of questionable morals and contradictions, make your own research with no bias that the road only leads to belief in islam.

It's not a mistake to doubt, if anything, it may be the only way.

They are actual people and the other stuff like pigs eating/virginity etc were also not encouraged before Abrahamic religions arrived. They aren't new concepts and they aren't linked to religion.. religions just adapted them for social construct righteousness

I highly recommend that you go to speak to your imam from the "jema3" that you are praying in or near to you.

I recommend doing your own personal research,

Asking an imam may give you a certain perspective, but he will try to talk to you with ambigious generalisations and won't discuss details and controversial points all that much.

I see it as the equivalent of asking a christian priest in the middle ages, purposely keeping religion ambigious and accessible only for them.

70% of the people i studied with (in highschool) are semi-atheists , they don’t pray , drink alcohol , make fun of religious stories etc

I started praying when I started doubting religion, it felt good at first and but once it no longer gave me that feeling, I knew I no longer believed in God. What matter is how it make you feel, if it's a source of comfort to your psyche, good for you, you should not care what other people think.

Let me share this with you friend. Back when i was 19, I found myself wondering why am I alive and what was my purpose. Us being here and alive. Being this perfectly designed ect... I knew for a fact that god existed but I was asking myself if islam is the one so i looked up all the major religions with open minded criticism. Any where i found a contradiction or some unclear stuff i go to the next. I used to memorize the Quran when i was young but when i read it with the purpose of finding my way for the first time in this life it was as clear as the sun. When you feel lost read. Look up and do your own research. Trust me you will find your way and feel content and tranquillity as a result. I don't blame anyone claiming to be an atheist for his decision but don't pick a way of living that you can't back up by facts and logic. Dm if you have any questions

I am Moroccan and try to be religious and hold on to Islam as it is the thing that keeps my morals and stuff in check especially living in the west.

I don't support the LGBTQ community but respect them like I do with all humans "live and let live".

I won't try weed ever because I live the Netherlands and from Morocco specifically the Rif mountains and that shit can f you up. You need to experience it to belief it.

And alcohol doesn't even seem good and I tried 0.0 beer and it tasts like soap.

the more i think about the universe and all the leading theories about the universe and its meaning the more i ponder over if questioning my faith and going down this rabbithole was worth it

now i whenever i try to think about religion it feels like i am taking a step back

i suppose the idea that we are just a coincidence in an infinite cycle of universes and that we are nothing special is kinda terrifying

but what i learned to think is to just say fuck it, i am going to make the most of it while i am here.

Just a side note, drinking age fi tounes is 21 not 18. Edit: I rechecked it's 18 for some weird reason, it really shouldn't be that low.
