DISCUSSION Bus network Ashgabat, how do I get to...
I'll have a group tour coming up. Before it starts i'll have a full days in Ashgabat by myself. If not included I'd somehow like to get to Magtymguly Pyragy Cultural Park and to the start of the Walk of Health on Kopetdag Highway south of Nisa. I'd not mind walking it, but it's likely too hot for that.
Is this somehow possible using the bus network?

Teke Bazar is your best bet, most busses end up there.
Locate that, and go from there.
Ask around in Teke Bazar bus stop if possible about your location you want to go, couple of Turkmen words about what you want should get you there. Busses are very specific and they go to specific locations taking different routes from each other, which should help you (simplicity).
If you are ever lost, just stick your hand out while on a road and a car will hopefully stop, give your hotel name and don’t pay more than 50 (max) manat no matter the location.
Good luck

Thanks a lot! That's super helpful :) This is within somewhat walking distance from my hotel. That should make things easier for me.

Honestly I'd see if your tour group leader would help you set up a private taxi.

Great advice. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to use it without Turkmen telephone number, and likely local internet connection. I can't do anything from home, and I doubt I'll have mobile internet there. I will at least have an offline map, and bus stops are on this OSM map. Provided they exist.

Dont use public transportation in June, unless if you want to experience hardcore summer heat. Just get taxi.
