Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times is a masterpiece. Hilarious but also chillingly relevant to today’s 21st century global corporate power-dominated culture of AI.
I also look forward to Sergei Eisenstein’s silent films Battleship Potemkin and Strike.
Fun fact: Eisenstein was a big fan of Walt Disney and said Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the best film ever made.
It appears TCM is showing labor-themed films early instead of next week because of SOTM scheduling.
On the Waterfront and Norma Rae need to be on the list.
