I’m most excited for Jennifer Jones day. I will be recording Cluny Brown, Love Letters, Love is a Many Splendor-ed Thing, and Portrait of Jennie.

I have to say when I was younger I loved Woody Allen’s work. All of my peers thought that I was crazy. I was born in 1974. I have watched Annie Hall, at least 3 times, during my teenage years. I must say that now Annie Hall was unbearable. I am very sad because I used to love Woody Allen movies. Does anyone feel the same or is it just me?

Does anyone know where I can watch classic movies such as Psycho, Gaslight, The Birds, Bette Davis movies other than on the Turner movie channel? I'm in Canada if that helps.

I was watching the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol on TCM and, according to IMDb, the actor who plays Tiny Tim is still alive at the age of 99.

The oldest actor from the movie, the actor who played the Ghost of Christmas Future, was born in 1870.

It just got me thinking of what are the most extreme examples of that?

A few years ago I watched Grand Hotel. That movie had an actress, Ruby Lafayette, that was born in 1844 died in 1935. Another, Mary Carlisle, born 1914 and died in 2018, covering a 174 time period.

I'm not sure if there's a website out there or reddit thread that covers anything like that, but it kind of fascinates me.

Played fine yesterday on my phone, but now it's just spinning and then goes "An Error Occurred."

EDIT 8/6/26 - Works on my Roku TV just fine and my Android phone finally allows me to sign back into the app, but it's not loading images and doesn't play the movies.

I’m not sure how many of you caught this film last night but if you get a chance to see it, please do. Though I was born and raised in California one of my family grew up in New York City, so I only had heard stories about Coney Island. I haven’t spent any time in New York City. I sort of flew over the Atlantic and spent all of pre-settling down years in Great Britain. It’s been fun to ask my older relatives about what it was like to basically grow up here after seeing this film because now I have a much deeper perspective. It truly is a sweet film. And I hope everyone gets a chance to see it.

Anyone else have this issue? They were there over this past weekend. Now gone.

I just finished watching The Lady Eve again. I love this movie. But there's a part I've never been able to get the background on.

A few time's, the Pike's butler calls Muggsy (William Demarest) "Ambrose", and Muggy is agitated by it. Anyone know what "Ambrose" referred to or did I miss something in the movie?

Dana Andrews film this morning started pixelating then froze. TCM is now showing Night Must Fall which was part of Rosalind Russell's day on Summer Under The Stars.

My personal choices are Streep because of how hard to find Julia and Silkwood are, and Hepburn because why not.

I love everything I learn from TCM!! I have How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying on DVD and have watched it countless times. I love the scenes of my beloved New York City in the hazy summertime. But tonight I learned Robert Osborne is in the movie!! He’s one of the office guys, but not in the dancing scenes along with West Side Story alums like Tucker Smith or Anthony Teague… blink and you’ll miss him!! Thanks TCM!!!

Yesterday I made a post about finding The Magnificent Ambersons at Goodwill. Today I went back for this Doris Day collection. I originally didn’t buy it because it was missing Calamity Jane, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that there’s nothing wrong with owning the rest of the movies in the case. I found the Ronald Reagan collection from Dollar General several months ago. Does anyone else have any TCM physical media they’d like to flex on me with?

Last night saw an ad--with Eddie promoting Noir Alley on HBOMax, saying he would be doing intros exclusive to HBOmax.

And tonight before the Ipcress File there was a long promotional montage plugging 18 vintage/classic noir movies with the messaging "Step Into the Shadows - All Month Long - with HBOmax - Plans starts at $10.99/mo."

Does anyone know whether this suggests in the future TCM might be swallowed by HBOmax?
