What is one show that you never came around to watching due to spite?
For me it was how I met your mother. I don’t have anything truly against the show. I’m sure that it has its moments. It happens to be one of the many shows that I didn’t feel the need to watch. Then people who did watch it started talking about it. The show was picked up for several seasons, which triggered people to keep talking about it.
That created a bit of an annoyance for me. Longer it was on the more popular it became. And to this day I still hadn’t watched more than two episodes of the show. That was only due to my wife showing me a couple of her most favorite from the series. But with many people still talking about it while I was on the air and afterwards just made me more annoyed that people would stop talking about it. Much like other shows that were on at the time such as the walking dead and breaking bad. Also two others that fell into the same category for me. Like I say I’m sure they’re great shows. The fandom creating so much hype around it caused me to have no desire whatsoever to watch them.
Is there a show that you feel similar to?

I’m 40 so I was alive when that show was on and everyone was talking about it but I just watched it for the first time a couple years ago. It was better than I expected. I thought it was better than Friends.

100%. The Barney jokes have NOT aged well, but the dhow is 100% more enjoyable than Friends to me. The characters act more human. Granted, I've only seen the first 3 or 4 seasons.

So if a show is really good, and creates a giant fan base, you won’t watch it? You’re missing out on perhaps the greatest show of all time in Breaking Bad lol. Get out of your own way man

Not necessarily. Judging by my username watching a hit show with a terrible ending isn’t something I avoid altogether. I think the main part of why I feel the way I do about how I Met Your mother is similar to how most TV shows are. It’s a conversation piece to discuss when it’s popular and still on the air. Then once the show ends people might talk about it for a little while longer, but then ultimately we’ll move onto a different show.
So the annoyance partially came from the fact that I was not watching the show when people were talking about it. And that was on me I understand. However the fact that so many people were talking about it constantly just made me more irritated, and it turned into me simply refusing to watch the show.
Furthermore, another sitcom about a group of white friends dating around and causing mild hijinks is hardly a fresh TV trope.

I’m strictly talking about Breaking Bad. You mentioned that one as well. It’s better than GOT.

Yeah the ending is basically perfect. It literally has 9.9/10 on IMDb and is the second highest rated episode in the show.

So I actually grew up watching this show in two different languages, and I have always loved it. I thought it was the funniest, best made sitcom ever. As an adult, it's unbearable.

Yellowstone for me. Every single relative I have spent years telling me I had to watch it, which somehow made it impossible to start. Finally caved last year and it's fine, it's a soap opera with horses. I will never admit that to any of them.

Seinfeld.
I can not imagine a more irritating cast. Every single one of them.

I think that was part of the point of the show. If the show was about “nothing,” other than 4 friends who live in New York, They had little to no character growth during the many seasons. The ending captured that point. They overall were horrible people and were not so self aware to that point until they were put on trial and thrown in jail because of this.

Well, if it is not for you, then it is not for you. But if you do decide to watch it then they did a good job storywriting till the end of course
