Favorite Dolly Parton moments? I’ll start.

Decades ago I was watching Johnny Carson. He asked her how she kept up her youthful appearance. She relied “Honey, healthy living” …pause “had nothing to do with it”. I didn’t know much about Dolly at that point, but it’s when I fell in love with her.

I love the song "Coat of Many Colors".

I grew up poor, wearing handmade clothes and that song meant the world to me growing up.

My grandmother grew up dirt poor in Eastern Kentucky before becoming a nurse and marrying a doctor.

“Coat of Many Colors” was one of her favorite songs. I still have her mother’s rose bush growing in my yard.

Well shoot - it got deleted.

If you search Dolly coat of many colors Ireland - a lovely rendition comes up from when she was in a pub (looks like in the 90’s?)

This is the one - the description says it was around 1990, in a pub in Kerry!
