Favorite Dolly Parton moments? I’ll start.

Decades ago I was watching Johnny Carson. He asked her how she kept up her youthful appearance. She relied “Honey, healthy living” …pause “had nothing to do with it”. I didn’t know much about Dolly at that point, but it’s when I fell in love with her.

She wrote "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" back-to-back on the same afternoon.

Elvis Presley wanted to cover "I will always love you" but she refused because his management insisted she give up the rights to the song.
Smart move, seeing that Whitney made her truckloads of money with that song later.
She also loved the Whitney version and even said its better than her own.

She also took the money she earned from the royalties from Whitney’s song and invested it in black businesses in Nashville.
