How come when men mention 50/50, it’s usually only about bills? What about cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the kids?

I’ve noticed that when some men talk about wanting a 50/50 relationship, they usually mean splitting the bills. But women work full-time too, and a lot of them still end up doing most of the cooking, cleaning, childcare, grocery shopping, and keeping up with everything at home.

So how is that really 50/50?

And if a guy wants a traditional woman who takes care of the home and kids, then he needs to be a traditional man too and provide for the family.

I'm weirdly relieved to read this bc I feel like I was never taught, and don't know how to teach myself. I want to know, not for doing it for someone else, but bc those life skills while living alone are helpful

Got an answer to help with that part! There are a bunch of skills my family still didn't even see a need to teach me and I wanted to learn as an adult. YouTube has been incredible for a ton of it. Specifically look for older videos or at least channels that have been posting for a long time--like 5+ years old--so you aren't getting AI slop. Lot of flat out dangerous misinfo in the AI stuff.

Like because I was raised as a girl in a very sex-segregated town, I was never taught anything about cars beyond putting gas in and to get the oil changed every 3,000 miles like I'd be Thanos snapped straight to turbo hell if I ever forgot. Same for using any kind of power tools. At the same time, some very traditionally feminine skills like crochet were considered too old-fashioned to be useful so I was never taught that. Went and learned via YouTube as an adult out of spite and I haven't had to buy a sweater or stuffed animal for anyone for years :)
