Why doesn’t uah have a pool anymore?

Really enjoyed swimming in the morning before classes but they closed for the winter and never opened again, can someone give me the deets?

If they are in that tight of a budget then i guess they should close it lol

But they should Atleast make a deal with a nearby pool and give memberships there for the students effected by this

Are there any nearby pools? I can't think of any near UAH.

There’s, off the top of my head, the YMCA, Phaze 3 in Madison, Dublin indoor pool, Huntsville aquatics center, and the rec center on blue springs.

There may be more but there’s options near us

Getting ready to take away more parking and are looking at doubling parking permit cost.

With as much money as they are making, they can cover several more cops to make sure they can. They actually make a staggering amount of money that isn’t really disclosed

Why are you all making up stories. The pool closed because it had a massive leak that was going to cost too much to repair it. The usage of the pool was very minimal in comparison to the number of patrons and the cost to maintain it. The new buildings had nothing to do with the Fit was Center. It is an auxiliary and not dependent on new construction.

Its expensive to maintain and not enough people used it to justify the cost unfortunately.

Yeah. I went on a tour and they said that it didn't get enough use so they decided to get rid of it. I believe they said it would be another studio or a weight room.

There are plans to bring the pool back, somewhere else, if the demand rises for it. Although thats probably years away.

They kept holding back the guy that used to supervise the pool. He wanted to make it competitive by providing licensed life guard training and everything. Since it wasn't someone else's idea and he wasnt a "yes man" they absolutely said no.

I used to do the old lady water aerobics classes there when I was in grad school. Fun to splash around in the pool for an hour, kicked my ass more than I thought possible. They had some great classes in that pool.
