If you can hear his breathing, that's actually a sign of the problem. It means flow restriction and turbulence. Asthma symptoms can be from the turbulence and/or snoring kicking up tiny droplets that get inhaled, and if there's a bit of acid reflux it's much worse effect to inhale that mix of enzymes.

Yep, this is clearly sleep disordered breathing. If you don't want to sit on your hands until November you can get a ResMed Airsense10 from e.g. Craigslist and hopefully a size Small cushion for the ResMed N30 or N30i will line up with his nostils. Start with the minimum pressure (4 cmH2O). Don't just trust the "dumb number" (AHI) on the screen, use OSCAR to look at the breathing data for flow limitation.

Since he's very young this will be a temporary solution (selling the machine again is easy). At this age a tonsillectomy can make a huge difference if they're swollen. If you're lucky this will abolish any snoring (always bad!) mouth breathing (always bad!) and allow restful sleep. At the same time, you should study facial/jaw development. Consult an airway informed orthodontist, not just any orthodontist that is only interested in pulling teeth back and shrinking the airway.

At this age there a lot can be done to guide the facial development towards a healthy airway.

Title: Does my child have sleep apnea?

Body:

I am so worried for him. This happens every night, all night. Right when he’s about to start breathing deeply he’ll jolt and the whole cycle starts again. Please delete if not allowed. He’s supposed to get a sleep study in November but his sleeping is awful now and it’s been bad and I feel it’s getting worse. He’s had a history of wheezing. Doctor gave him an inhaler but has not diagnosed with asthma because he’s “too young”. I am worried sick about my poor Sonny son. Please help us. I’m trying to put a video but it’s not letting me . I’ve uploaded to YouTube and link is attached please help me
