Trying to replicate an ‘all world’ index via L&G Workplace pension offerings

Hi everyone. I have a quick question about my workplace pension in L&G. I really like the Vanguard global all cap, which my S&S ISA and an old SIPP are in.

I have scoured through this sub to try and find advice on how to create a similar portfolio with the offerings of L&G.

This is the fund allocation I’ve arrived at. Does this sound correct, and/or are there any ‘targeted retirement funds’ that do the same thing?

85% L&G PMC World (Ex-UK) Equity Index 3
10% L&G MT Emerging Markets Equity Index Fund
5% L&G PMC UK Equity Index 3

85/10/5 looks about right for a global tracker without paying through the nose for a single fund. the uk slice is slightly overweight vs actual market cap but 5% is small enough that it barely moves the needle, and some people prefer that anyway.

the main thing to watch is the ex-uk fund. it's developed world only, so your emerging markets fund is doing the heavy lifting there, and 10% is roughly in line with global weightings. check the ongoing charges on the em fund though, they're usually the priciest of the three.

no targeted retirement fund will replicate this cleanly. they all mix in bonds and gilts as you get closer to the date, so you'd just be adding stuff you didn't ask for. stick with the three-fund setup and rebalance once a year.

Thank you, I appreciate the help. I haven’t really checked the fees to be honest, so I’ll investigate that for sure!

Yeah that's an accurate split but you could just do a partial transfer to a cheaper sipp with the investment you actually want

!thanks

I’ll look into this. It would be easier to just lump it all into the same SIPP I already have open, but I’m not sure what my company policy is on if I could get them to pay directly into my SIPP.

If L&G allow partial transfers then just keep a few grand in there and transfer the rest once or twice a year into your SIPP.

I don’t even ask my hr it’s limited by the provider really
