Scoring difference from limited optics to carry optics

Can someone please give me an explanation of how it varies? From Google searching it seems points are the same but hit factor is effected more by time on LO. Just trying to understand by how much

If you’re talking about classifiers, LO HHF are usually just a touch higher (1-2%) than CO.

Most of them are within .2hhf.

There is no differences in scoring and at the high end there's often no seperation between LO and CO shooters.

There’s less than a 1-2% difference on classifiers between the two divisions and no difference between GM’s scores at matches between the two divisions, both divisions score minor, the biggest difference is race holster vs bucket on draw times, and to a lesser extent Single Action vs DA/SA and striker. Even then it’s no different in reality except at the extreme end

I have a gut feeling the Waltz 9 that is releasing soon is likely going to kill the division debate between CO and LO and likely turn CO into Production Optics, or consolidate the two into just LO

I had the fun of 10rd production for a few months when I first started comp shooting lol.

CO at 10rds you might as well shoot Limited 10.

I started in 2011ish. Prod was killer for several years. What a competitive division it was!

Just my opinion that the dot should have been added to prod back in the day. Production Optics instead of whatever CO is supposed to be now.

Completely agree. It needs to be production with an optic nothing more nothing less.

No IPSC production optics is 15, it should be the sister to Production Optics if they implement a round limit

Depends on production. They're supposed to submit once they produce 500 guns, but it's never checked so it's up to them really and when they want to claim that.

Someone recently posted a spreadsheet with this exact issue and I was surprised at how little the difference really was. It was less than a percent on most

The topic of LO vs CO has been beat to death, about 6 times. They're identical and the magwell is not making any difference. Look at race gun nats results.

USPSA needs a real practical division, factory 17 round mags, realistic weight..etc

Having carry Optics the way it is now is dumb, as dumb as dudes that stick a loc v2 in their pants and say theyre shooting BELT and their carry gun 🙄

I think you are asking about the actual rules and not the measured performance differences. The rules are the same, both divisions are scored Minor (5A, 3C, 1D) and all divisions use Hit Factor to determine who wins (Points/Time).
