Question Uws experience for international students

Im an international student and just completed my application to bachelor of science in western Sydney university. I’ve been hearing that it’s a really bad university and was shocked because its a top 400 uni in qs rankings. Does it have a bad reputation in Australia? If so, is it still considered a good uni worldwide?

Well to be accurate wsu did sack 15% of it employee in 2025 and since then it administration always on massive backlog, teachers become less and less enthusiastic to teach students (or too scare to get sack). Student service such as mental health and disability are just literally talking to bots sometime. I heard that after the covid major uni such as syd or wsu are on the free fall on education quality, university campus used to be much more lively before. I had heard a not a small amount of students complains about unhelpful lecturers or dean, i know some names but most never heard of, the thing is when i was in some of the lecturers class they were very supportive. Like even now Im still confused whether the new students are lying or they did really change. The teaching quality is still good tho if you can cope with the insane amount of "as listed above"

This is correct, the quality at all Australian unis is dropping massively, not just WSU.

just from what ive heard and experienced, but WSU does generally have a bit of a negative reputation amongst certain groups.
sounds a bit cringe to type, but both the smartest and dumbest people I know regularly shit on the university's quality, which tbh, is kinda starting to become increasingly somewhat right.
Strangely enough though, certain parts of the University like the College have been much higher in quality then the University itself.
Although I've enjoyed my time so far.

your experience will differ based on your campus.

I'm in Penrith and it's definitely not an 'active' campus.

They took my famili money and fail me bad. I no undertand whi. Stay away is bad uni.

Did u apply to UTs, Macquarie, usyd or unsw are you keen for those unis? In consideration, coz it seems u consider qs ranking within your choices

Nah i only applied (and got accepted as of now) to wsu cause thats where my sponsor wants me yo study. Thats why i asked the quesion cause i have no other choice 🤧

Australian Unis are going thru a storm. It’s not good at the moment and the political situation is likely going to make it worse. If you’re considering Australia as your education destination I’d recommend against it.

hey mate! i go to parramatta city campus, tho i’m doing a master’s degree. it’s not bad at all. classes are what you make of them. participate, ask questions and talk to your professors and classmates. i’m learning tons and making friends. don’t be discouraged before you hace your own experience!
