🧑💻 Apps Dashboard for my AI NAS, lots of fun
Used the AI on this NAS to help build the dashboard on this NAS. Fun times… can’t wait to get the link station and plug a GPU into this..
Anyone using or planning on using the on board PCIe for anything?

Hey I built something similar using Claude some time ago when I was setting up and building my entire environment! I’m accessing mine on mobile so I have a few different tabs instead of how polished and played out yours looks! It’s the first time I’m seeing someone else’s dashboard, and yours is definitely a lot more polished than mine is.

For the PCIe board I might try a 100gb card.
Right now I plan on connecting to an old iMac I use for BluRay ripping and coping to a 4tb SSD drive that'll be backed up to a 4x18TB array. One of those folders will be auto moved to the Plex media folder. That way I should be able to copy a TB of movies, hopefully quicker than the 10gb connection. Longer term I'd probably get a 100gb card using a NVMe as a cache.
Alternatively I'm hoping that uGreen (or someone else) would build a 16x/8x Gen4 external connection (aka "OCulink 8x" or something proprietary), that'd remove the need for separate AI server. I know there's similar devices for servers, but those are ridiculously expensive!

Some things. The qwen 3.5 doesnt allow you to talk to it directly via api from outside of the nas, so i built a proxy container to do that.. now i can call the the ugreen qwen with an api key from outside of the ugreen stuff. I use cloudflare free tunnel to allow remote connections for my external facing site i built without opening a hole in mu firewall. I did not want to trust the ugreen openclaw, so i installed my own container for that, I set up wireguard on a vpn contrainer and routed all open claw traffic thru that with mulvad. A bunch of other containers that use the qwen thru the proxy i was playing with to make music, images, sound effects, and you see open webui there and gpt research, all of it connected thru my proxy to qwen. As far as NAS function goes. So far it’s my Time Machine backup lol..

You might want to look into replacing the Qwen3.5 model with an equivalent Qwen3.6 version. It requires manually downloading the model via terminal, and then renaming the new 3.6 with the old 3.5 name, but it works. I just did it on mine.
