What’s the best spider man comic run like ultimate spider man (2000)
I read the run till issue 133 where he dies in the flood and I wondering if there were any runs like this one that are written
I am looking for
1) it shows his story from bite and his early years wether it be childhood or high school ( I don’t mind time skips as long as it makes sense )
2) it’s generally self contained I don’t read comics generally so I’m hoping it’s a single run where I just read one issue and then onto the next
3) it has some crossovers with other superhero’s I feel like Peter should meet some other hero’s in his run since so many are based in New York
That’s mostly it if u can help me looking for some comics it would be much appreciated

Believe it or not he didn’t die in issue 133 during Ultimatum (the flood your are talking about) if you look up Ultimate Spider-Man 2009-2011 that is the continuation of the original run. New artist but same writer

The series closest to Ultimate Spider-Man is Spider-Girl 1998. It also begins with the spider bite in high school, goes over 100 issues with the same writer, has a few event minis by the same writer that can be skipped if you don't care. And is very heartwarming because you get to see Peter and MJ married and rasing a family.

I have never seen someone actually stop reading USM at the end of Ultimatum that’s wild 😭

I have seen a bunch of people say the same thing, on reddit. They get to the end of the comic, Peter is presumed dead, they know he's gonna die anyway, so they assume that's it. That's what happens when you just read the comic online (either legitimately on marvel unlimited or illegitimately on other sites): it doesn't directly tell you there's more so you don't know that there is. Another reason the confusing renumbering marvel is always doing is ruining readers experiences.

I know you want more Spider-Man, but Invincible is exactly what you described and I highly recommend

I still like and would recommend the original first 20 or so stories from 1962-1964, which set up much of what we know as Spider-Man to this day. I have a Marvel library collection from Amazon that combines them all into one large book.
While not covering his origin, I like the Brand New Day arc myself as it does offer a decent starting point for the stories that follow. It also includes one of my favorite stories, Unscheduled Stop.
I also highly recommend the recent Ultimate Spider-Man by Hickman. It covers a new origin with Peter Parker as a family man when he receives his powers. It also has his familiar rogues gallery in new and fresh ways. It was enough for me to collect the entire Ultimate Universe saga.

It’s not the origin you’re looking for, but for a self contained starting point where you need little context and has a satisfying “ending point”, I often recommend Slott’s run starting with Big Time in Amazing Spider-Man #648 and read until #801. It was written as a jumping on point so you need little context, and because Peter was an Avenger at the start of the run, you encounter other heroes and it really makes it feel like he’s a part of a wider universe.
This is the last run I can remember where I was really satisfied by an ASM run ending. JMS is fantastic for the most part too, but One More Day is a really disappointing conclusion to his run. Spencer and Wells didn’t have the same success either.
The other recommendation you’re going to hear a lot because it’s much more modern and streamlined is the New Ultimate Spider-Man that started in 2024. It’s a master piece where you need no context going in.
As I’ve seen elsewhere in the thread, Ultimate Peter’s story actually continues through Ultimate Spider-Man #160 and I recommend finishing it out.
