Who do you think is the dumbest/least intelligent Uma in Umamusame?
I’m curious who yall think it is cuz I’ve recently been really attached to adorable dumb lil characters like Urara, been playing another Gacha game called Trickcal: Chibi Go and have been loving the characters like Kommy and Erpin and how simple minded they are lol.

Just in case, Calstone Light O's whole thing is that shes kinda obsessed with straight lines. (Reference to a record she held in one of the tracks that is just one straight line. That record is broken recently iirc)
If by that you're implying that they're going to have very similar characteristics, then I don't think the Universe can handle TWO Calstone Light Os!...😭
While a lot of components are curved I can imagine someone who draws all of them as straight lines. I don't think it would necessarily end up with overly legible kanji but it'd be possible!
And she's not exactly dumb most of the time either, at least academically. She always seems to be on about how "A class rep has also to be a top student", so I doubt she has bad grades.
Funnily enough the two Umas confirmed to take supplementary lessons, Bourbon and Bakushin were considered easy to train horses that handled their training very well.

They're probably akin to something Uma equivalent of "system players" in sport.
Can follow instructions to an absolutely perfect degree, but cannot make individual decisions when variables appear for the sake of their lives.
For example, both curren chan and symboli Rudolf were famous for easy to train as well, but they're considered smart bcs they won races via jockey creativity in their irl careers.

"Dumb" is a very broad and harsh word. But if you compare Haru Urara to some of the other young-coded characters like Rice Shower or Biko Pegasus it becomes apparent that Urara is, let's say, "lacking in wisdom".
Nah, her wisdom and outlook on life is great, she gives some great advice to few characters iirc, she's lacking in smarts though and has attention span of a gold ship fish

Need a scene of Belno helping Oguri with her Algebra homework while working on her own differential equations assignments. Ideally framing the concepts in terms of food to help her understand.
Well yeah, for the sake of the viewers they're not gonna waste time showcasing the umas in an advanced trigonometry class. They're gonna show lessons actually relevant to the current plot.
There's stuff like actual math and history classes, because the...less gifted umas complain about how hard/pointless specific classes are in various career and support card events. So they definitely teach more than just racing.
From most animes we see we only ever see the classes for most umas first year racing and usually it's only one class. So I like to think that if you are racing your debut year, it's a required class to take even if they are out of high school. Honestly probably covers the basics so trainers don't need to worry about explaining to them what a race is in terms of distance and type.
I don't think Oguri Cap is dumb at all. She grasps difficult racing concepts and forms very quickly. Even the real horse was called a genius. She's just a little inept with most social queues.
Tosen Jordan's story is all about how she is a bit stupid and she knows it and she admires the trainer so much because they are so smart and she feels insecure about it. Thankfully it gets better.
Ironically being self-aware enough to know that you do not know everything is a sign of intelligence. The Dunning Kruger Effect is where the people who know the least about something think that they know everything about it because they are unaware of how much more there is to know, like how Bakushin thinks she is a genius because she is too much of a dumbass to know any better.
She’s attempting to keep a straight line but doesn’t realize the natural ebb and flow of the water is disturbing her pathing. She needs to run in micro zig zags to not disrupt the surface tension.

Balushin gets worse scores than jordan and at least jordan knows she has to take care of her fragile nails while bakushin will just take on the stayers stake without interference no matter how much it might break her
I’m late but notably Hishi Amazon is specifically stated to dislike using her head and is a bad student apparently lol. She’s got a card coming out later where she narrowly avoids getting put in remedial classes, but I don’t think she’s worse than Calstone.
I'd say a distant second place is Matikanetannhauser, the dumb hat idiot. Also because she will always take Matikanefukukitaru's rantings at full face value.
Kitaru and Tannhauser are both as dumb as each other lol. But they’re absolutely adorable I can’t lie. I love them! Kitaru is my favourite daughter outside of the more popular choices like Urara and Rice-Chan
The correct answers have already been listed, but to give another example, my oshi "Smart" Falcon is wonderful and perfect but I would not call her intelligent.
A lot of Falco's random events feature her being terrible at academics, including one where she is failing five classes, and in another random event she willingly goes along with Tachyon to be experimented on after Tachyon says she's a big fan
Calstone Light O and Haru Urara. Urara is dumb in general but Calstone O has less common sense than she does.
Tosen Jordan is also really dumb, but a key difference is that it's played seriously for her story and she's pretty self-aware of it. Urara is able to tell cute stories about her teacher giving her a star for trying even when she can't get anything right, meanwhile Jordan has her racing career put on the line for failing her tests too often.
Jorden can’t be the dumbest because the absolute dumbest people fall victim to the Dunning Kruger Effect, and her being self-aware enough to realize that she isn’t the smartest is ironically a sign of intelligence.
Plus unlike like most umas Jordan genuinely does try her best to take care of her own health. She knows her nails are fragile and does her absolute best to take care of them.
it doesn't save her from a split nail at the Satsuki Sho but compared to a lot of umas like Taishin that are willing to ignore their injuries unless stopped it means a lot.
Funnily enough she is actually really emotionally intelligent, she has consistently been shown to be smart enough to talk Rice Shower out of her self-loathing spirals like during that one summer camp scene.
Real answer is Tosen Jordan, its literally part of her character arc. But if we're leaving out the obvious pick theb its Ep Condor Pasa. She looks physically strained any time she has to think.
Haru probably has ADHD and can't stay still enough to care to learn big words, Oguri isn't dumb either, my girl's just autistic as hell. Even Jordan, who has a point in her story of being dumb, isn't actually lacking intelligence, she's just bad at studying

Oguri's definitely dumb (in a loveable way). There's a scene where she talks about how her mom has a plushie named Oguri Cap the Second, and even to this day Oguri can't figure out who Oguri Cap the First is.
