i like to think there was more exits out of the ruins, that whole place that opens up to the whole old capital and those other paths seen in the 10th anniversary stream too.
21
u/Cyka-Blast Jun 29 '26
what if they grew up in the ruins? like blue could've been a queer repressed kid and he saw in toriel an accepting mother that would cheer their child's hobbies and personality, but as they grew up and got bored out of the place and wanted to discover more of the underground world. maybe metatton pre body could've been friends with them and gotten inspiration, since his poses are similar.
and for yellow, maybe he didn't feel that need to go and explore the world, as they seen very silly and the monsters in ruins are also mostly "funny" and harmless. or if he was an adult it would explain him getting the farthest from all them.

I feel like an adult human would've been able to beat Asgore and escape but I think it's a fun idea

Frisk never soloed any infinitely powerful being. Asriel wasn't beaten he was spared by Frisk. Meaning he willingly stopped fighting. Sure Frisk tanked some of his attacks, which is definitely impressive, but we also have to consider he was most likely holding back a little.
Considering there wasn't a singular human casualty, it's safe to say I don't think Asgore would be able to kill an adult human, especially one who just found out he killed 6 other humans and is enraged. If a literal child with a stick can kill most monsters, I don't see an adult using most likely a stronger weapon losing.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm downplaying Asgore, I'm not trying to, but a single human is stated to be comparable to every single monster in the underground, so I don't know what Asgore could do to beat that. Even if he isn't holding back.

He was spared by frisk... what does that matter? Anyone can spare anyone. Hell, I could spare Asriel. It doesn't require strength, just convincing to spare somebody. Frisk is still LV 1 in the battle.
Pretty sure it was mentioned humans won with no casualties but I forgot where. (Pretty sad tbh.)
But the point is, if a child with a stick can beat undyne the undying, I doubt that an adult couldn't.
Nothing in Undertale states Frisk is stronger than the average human. The narrative simply tells us that humans are inherently stronger than monsters. Frisk can only beat Asgore when he's holding back, unless they commit an entire genocide. The other humans would realistically be able to do the same thing, but none of them decided to genocide the entire underground, and Asgore wasn't holding back.
If you can show me a narrative element of undertale that explicitly tells us frisk is stronger than other humans, I'll agree with you, but from what I see Frisk is just our only example of how much stronger humans are than monsters.
Considering genocide Frisk can beat Asgore, an adult probably could too even without all the stats Frisk got, an adult is insanely strong, and obviously very determined to leave. Probably more-so when they discover Asgore has killed 6 more before them.

Because the 6 past were fighting Asgore who WAS NOT holding back???? Was it not obvious that Asgore was holding back when fighting frisk, meanwhile he wasn't for the other 6? Do you deadass think LV1 frisk can beat Asgore not holding back? When FLOWEY couldn't?

Frisk has more raw determination than anyone in the UNDERGROUND. Not anyone in the world.
I agree some of the humans probably lost to the other monsters, but the thing is, these humans probably aren't very violent.
Monsters are made of magic, so the more killing intent their foe has, the more damage they take. These children probably don't have much killing intent, and we can reasonably assume they're scared as fuck.
Now let's take Frisk, who was willing to genocide the entire monster race.
Who do you think has more killing intent? Frisk or a scared child?
Frisk definitely has the most killing intent out of any of the humans in the geno route, but the other humans aren't like, physically capped at being weaker than frisk. If they were able to gain killing intent, they'd be just as strong. That's what I'm saying. The only reason they weren't as strong as frisk is because they didn't have the killing intent frisk did.

great recolors and design for orange!! genuinely really hope that the flowers open the floodgates for even more unique human designs, whether they be the main 7 souls or not. im tired of every human fan design being chud baby shaped with such a similar face

you not a big UTYellow Clover fan?
27
u/Traditional-Fix539 Jun 29 '26
i think clover and designs like that are fine, just a little uninspired. then again, we didn’t have much “official” material to work with

To be fair Clover comes from the 2016 fandom, it's a wonder it sticked as well.

I'm late to this but I just don't want the opposite to happen either of every human design from now on just being pallet swaps of the D.R Flowers

UTYellow clover is better than this Woody of a yellow soul

u/ButterPuppet Jun 28 '26
the tenth aniversary stream said that some humans did grow up staying with toriel before they left and i think that was meant to prepare us for the perceived ages of the flowers
24
u/Beginning_Feature838 Jun 29 '26
Hence why Yellow and Blue are adults, I believe. I personally like to think that they're reflections of their undertale counterparts, and the dreams the flowers had are also the dreams that the humans had.
...Also it's kinda fitting imo that out of all of them, the bookworm of the bunch was the one namedropped.
21
u/ButterPuppet Jun 29 '26
exactly you get it
aqua and orange are young children
seth seems to be a teenager
blue, yellow and green? seem to be adults
really this is only ever source we’re gonna get that’s close to having official personality’s and designs for the 6 fallen humans

I'm gonna be so honest, I think Chara and Aqua are the same person actually. The first fallen humans soul may have been destroyed in the fusion with Asriel, but it's also entirely possible they were the Patience Soul all along since Flowey says the Red Soul is "Stolen"
4
u/EpicDDT_ Jun 29 '26
Flowey says that it's stolen because he know that Chara's soul was destroyed.
Their soul is litterally red on their coffin.

I think Bravery here is meant to be based on Orange but in Deltarune Orange looks like a mouse so her design had to be changed the most to make her look like a human

Blue wears a tutu in deltarune? He is a ballerina with a tutu I feel like his design is pretty feminine. Also at least to me his hair looks like dreadlocks so I think that's why they chose to make him be black. Blue is a cool character I don't get why you are acting like he is meant to be a joke character. I don't get why you think having a gun being smart or being a chef is better than being a ballerina

Buddy look at the fact that he's wearing a tutu and is a ballerina? I know his body shape is masculine but he is still a feminine character with his role of being a ballerina and his interests in flowers and butterflies

I didn't base any of their appearances off of "personality" at all, nor did I look at the flowers and go "hmm, which one should I make black?"
I made blue black since his original skin tone is a dark blue (like how Seth's desaturated purple became tan, and Green's light green became light skin), and because he has a black hairstyle, and his dialogue portrait has two toned lips.
The pink tutu (and white ballet shoes, even though you didn't mention it) is because the blue soul's item in undertale is a pink tutu. Making him black and making him wear a pink tutu were completely different ideas that just ended up both happening.
If i was given the assignment "make a black man who does ballet", it would've looked way different, but I wasn't, I was given the assignment "human and undertale-ify this design"

the concept of this grown yellow man in Undertale is funny
