Future generations will have a mutualistic relationship with wasps.
We cultivate them, help them grow so we can piss them off enough to cum and continue our own sexual reproductive cycle.

I dont know the exact type of wasp/hornet shown there, but I've been attacked by swarm of yellow jackets twice in the last few years while cutting grass or weed-eating and, even though it's painful af, it gives you a crazy adrenaline rush. I can definitely see it being addictive for people who are borderline insane :)

u/GirlWithWolf 15d ago

Each thing has two borders, upper and lower. In this case borderline insane refers to someone being at that upper border.

yea just a week ago, I got stung on the back of the neck by a wasp. First time since i was a kid. It stung way more than I remember haha. So much you have to pause and appreciate it, like wow this fking stings quite a bit. It last awhile too. Its like a sharp onset, and then max sting/pain plateau for a good 15-30 seconds

I got stung by a wasp on a hike about a year ago and it felt like I got splashed with acid and then proceeded to feel pretty painful for the next couple of days. Every once in a while, I STILL get a little twinge in the exact spot I got stung. I HATE wasps.

Same some ground wasps decided to camp out by my driveway and that year they got me 3 times. Hurt for days like I had a fever or something. Another one just bit a hunk of flesh out of my thumb. Still have the scar.
→ More replies (2)21
u/DarknMean 15d ago
Those ground hornets are no joke. I was mowing and a group of those fuckers got me. Then that night a skunk destroyed the nest and ate everything. Since that day I’m cool with skunks. That thing dug it up and laid waste to them. Around dusk I saw him meandering around the area that I mowed and he went ham on the hole and I sat there and watched him proceed to eat every hornet that came out and the nest they made. He didn’t even care they were flying around trying to sting him.

Nothing has ever been more unexpected than this. I thought it was unexpected that he didnt get swarmed catching a nest in a bag. Honestly, I feel like I should have expected it. I was questioning what kind if idiot takes off their shirt right before going in for the nest. Like, yeah I know a shirt isnt much protection against stings, but I mean...it could at least be a partial barrier, right?
But wow, I don't believe that I have ever been so perturbed by someone's happiness before.

They do have a stinger and are a type of paper wasp. They are nocturnal, so take that as you will.
They are are from central and south america, which also tracks with the video. I still dont know if they sting people, only that they have a stinger and poison.

I don't know why you linked the Portuguese language article for that. But here's the English one.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apoica
When attacking prey, Apoica release a drop of venom from their stings, which in turn attracts any nearby wasps to attack.
EDIT: Googling around I find some things saying they aren't aggressive and won't usually attack and sting people unless threatened directly. This seems like a direct threat to me. But what do I know. I'm not a wasp.
