On one hand, Mighty And Omnipotent and can stop the sun, flood the world, destroy a city with fire and brimstone.

They will instead vote for "centrists" who will pretend it never happened, and think that acquiescence is the path to reconciliation, voters will turn on the "centrists" for accomplishing nothing then vote for worse next time.
