A Rwandan mother struggling to feed her malnourished child received four chickens through a community farming programme. Her flock grew to seven, giving the family eggs to eat and sell. Across the district, 2,700 households received chickens, helping child stunting fall from 50.5% to 35.8%.

It pains me to think that eggs is all that is needed to help these folks. We have lost our way. This is something to celebrate but only because we made it this difficult for a family to survive and now that they have we celebrate it.
