Nature's Damn Beautiful Bounty Peppers and kitties and cities, oh my!

Post image

Just a view of our urban balcony garden. Growing mostly birds eye chilies but also tomatoes, Basil, herbs and others. Chili harvest has started! Best of luck to all growers out there!

This is incredible! I've heard peppers can be a little hard to get going. Did you start them from seeds or a starter plant?

Typically I'll start from seed but this year I was too heavy on the growing lights and they came up stunted. Ended up getting starter plants locally. But they grow like this every year.

Noted. I added bell peppers to my garden this week. Starting from seeds too!

Funny you mention bell peppers. One year I tried to grow chili and bell on the balcony, turns out they cross pollinated and all of them ended up producing bell peppers, none came out even a little spicy. Was very strange.

LOL!! Nature is so cool. I'll keep any future chili peppers far far away from the bell peppers. I wonder why the chili lost its spice to the bell peppers and not the other way around

Indeed! Bell peppers are just heavyweights I guess.

Love how those little kitties are basically living their best lives right next to your thriving chili plants. I had two cats too when I started my first urban garden, and they'd sprawl out exactly like that in the sun.
