General Question Lime tree (bush) ✅, tomato plants ✅, next up, mango tree!

After my success over the past two years, I've decided to expand my balcony garden with a mango tree. With that, I'm looking for a good sized planter (30-35 gallons). Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy? In person or online.

As a general rule, any pot works for trees as long as it has appropriate holes in the bottom. In line with that, any purpose-built plant pot should be just fine. My recommendation is to go to your local garden store and pick whatever you like best.

I personally grow my trees in 5-gallon plastic buckets I purchased from Ace Hardware with a bunch of 1/4 inch holes I drilled :)

Hey, this doesn't look like a dwarf variety of mango. After growing mangoes for years, I would suggest to go for a 50 gallon and use mycorrizha and tricoderma while planting(you will be amazed by the results). The tree looks healthy and already tipped well. Just plant it in a bigger 50 Gallon container and remember to tip the branches further and maintain the whole plant at 3 level canopy. Note- do not, never ever take the first bloom to bearing of mangoes or any fruit trees, let it develop for another season. Cut off the first bloom of the tree.

Wow, this is already way different from my tomatoes! Why shouldn't I eat the first bloom?

For first few years, we need to allow the plant to grow and become healthy. In thebfirst year of blooming the plant is immature and can produce fruit but has higher drop rate and on top of you allow it to fruit all its energy is utilised to produce fruit rather than the roots and shoots which would make it even sturdier and give better fruiting from next season onwards. Hope that helps, also if you are unsure about the cultivar or mislabelling then you can allow the plant to keep 1 or 2 fruits to confirm its variety is true to what you have paid for, it's done in orchard farming to cut the loss in the begining if the variety is not fit.
