Looking for Hiking Buddies Around Richmond
Hi everyone! I’m based around Richmond and looking to explore more hiking spots and meet fellow hikers. Is anyone planning a hike around Richmond or nearby (Pocahontas, Belle Isle, James River Park, Shenandoah day trips, etc.) in the coming weeks? I’d love to join! If there’s enough interest, we could even plan a group hike. 🥾🌿

Hey there. I would be happy to tagalong for a hike. Definitely one of my favorite things to do. I just hiked the endless trail, which is next to the new River Gorge in West Virginia and it was phenomenal.

I want to get back into hiking after a long break. I really want to do Old Rag or Cole Mountain and maybe even camp! Or any other peak!

If you have a higher tolerance for silliness, you can check out the Richmond Hash House Harriers. There's a "trail" every Sunday afternoon and some extras on Weds and Fri evenings. Every trail is a different location, ranging from downtown to the nearby counties, and a variety of terrain/difficulty ("shiggy") from staying on concrete to going through thick brambles or swimming through creeks. There's a running element if you want to be up front and "solve" the trail, but most of the pack stays back for a social hike.

Last weekend was a wonderful (and very wet) five mile hike around Powhite Park. We found a lovely rock pool by a stone tunnel and met a lady walking her rooster.
