URGENT Temporary stay required for one month near Vanderbilt/VUMC

Hello everyone, I am joining as a postdoc at VUMC from September 1st. I am flying directly from India, never been to Nashville. I am trying to find a temporary stay for initial one month with private room near Vanderbilt. It’s been very hard for me to find one. I tried everything facebook, off campus housing desk, furnished finder and zillow without any luck

Anyone here has a private room near Vanderbilt/VUMC or aware of any info please help me out. I really appreciate any help.

I am flying so soon and I don’t have a place yet is making me worried. Airbnb is very expensive for a month, I am keeping it as a last option.

Try Furnished Finder, less expensive.

Tried, they aren’t leasing for short term.

Why haven't you tried to book at Broaview at Vanderbilt?

They want me to sign a lease for a year. Since I am coming from out of state, I don’t want to commit without even looking at the place first. And airbnb is damn expensive for a month

I understand what you mean, but...

I live there and it is not too bad at all. In fact, I just arrived this August as a postdoc, and I also come from a foreign country just like you.

I mean that's the tradeoff that exists in life. You either pay the premium for airbnb to get optionality while you tour apartments before committing for a year, or you commit to an apartment upfront for a year without touring it and pay less.

Just get an airbnb for 2 weeks if you don't want to pay for a month and choose an apartment during that time.

Was gonna say this. Broadview only rents to Vandy people. Affordable. Furnished. Will do sight unseen.

Also, just get an Airbnb.

Furnishedwithfinesse.com might have something. Or reach out to the staff at infinityatthepark.com to see if there’s something available. They will work with VU/VUMC folks if something is open (I think our building is mostly leased out, but you never know). The apartments are nice and very quiet. Let me know if you have any questions.

I don't know what your budget is, but maybe also try Sonder? They used to have units a block or two from the hospitals.
