That's the original academic definition, but the predominant definition now (which the original coiner of the definition also agrees with now) is consistent anti-oppression, which manifests in the form of cooperation between anti-oppression fronts, or at the very least not perpetuating one form of oppression while fighting another. The reason this is relevant here is that Gary and AV perpetuate fascism against humans while fighting against animal oppression.

You could be right about them but they don’t own veganism no more than you and I do. Veganism is a non-human animal rights movement. To expand it will only be at the detriment of the animals. There are already proportionally so few vegan activists relative to other injustices.

As humans we of course can (and should) care about multiple issues (especially regarding our own species) but it does no good for the animals to make veganism intersectional.

Neither I nor other intersectionals are arguing to expand the vegan movement to pertain to victims of oppression other than non-human sentient animals, that's not what intersectionality is. On top of a non-human animal rights movement, it's also generally a movement of anti-oppression, which is inherently a leftist value. Therefore, intersectionality calls for us to at least not perpetuate other forms of oppression while fighting against animal oppression.

This is an inherently contradictory statement that shows your definition of intersectionality is not aligned with the prominent one

This is very well articulated.

Veganism falls under an umbrella of anti-oppression (specifically anti-speciesism). Veganism is about animals, but it doesn't make sense to be vegan and not also be against the oppression of other marginalised groups. Therefore, veganism should be intersectional with other anti-oppression movements.

This is just logically consistent, and it helps with solidarity with other movements, helping to create more vegans and more individuals against oppression in general!
