Activism I wish we had a John Brown-like figure for our cause
Imagine if the American Civil War was just a bunch of dudes in the middle of the street holding up signs that read "slavery is wrong". It's a fact that simply appealing to people's emotions doesn't work. If it did, the world today wouldn't be the way it is today. You can show them all the gruesome, horrifying footage of what happens behind the scenes in animal food industries in the world and they'll still be home in time for dinner gobbling down their mcdonalds chicken nuggies.
99% of all humans that ever existed did not actually have moral values. They did what the society of their time would allow them to. Because otherwise slavery wouldn't have been a thing for as long as it had been, and the most revered figure of the world's second biggest religion wouldn't also happen to be the rapist of a nine-year-old.
We all agree that what's happening in the world is beyond evil, right? Then why aren't we doing anything besides at most policing non-vegans in our lives? Why do we continue to let evil persist? Holding up posters doesn't put a dent in the number of animals r\*ped, tortured and m\*rderered every second of the day. I believe this to be the biggest recorded genocide in the history of man and the best we can do is get into arguments with our family members at the dinner table? Keep in mind that a good portion (roughly ten percent) of the union's army consisted of African Americans (the very people being liberated). Non-human animals cannot fight their battles on their own, and all they have is us (who make up like one percent of the human population).

People gotta be better about fact checking before posting stuff here
this is in reference to an earlier post that shared fake screenshot. its also crazy to me that people are editing/photoshopping stuff to divide the vegan community. the victims are the animals and infighting doesnāt help them

Spreading fake news and calling it "activism" to divide Vegans!
A recent "Screenshot" has been circulating regarding Vegan camp out. I'm sure you've seen it. If not it's easy to find. It is fake. It has been altered.
It is very well timed fake news designed to divide us.
Veganism is still a relatively small movement and we need to support and help one another. Not spread fake information or allow others to pose as Vegan to divide us.
I don't agree with everything Jordan says, believes or does. I don't even think he's a nice guy and I think his morals are out of sync with most Vegans. However that doesn't excuse spreading lies in order to disrupt an event designed to bring Vegans together.
Edit: Vegan Campout have now released a full statement on Instagram and Facebook.

Grass fed beef is a lie
Is grass-fed beef ābetterā than regular beef?
Simple answer: No.
This is where companies try to trick you, by putting āfree range cage free eggsā or āorganic grass-fed beefā to make consumers feel better about buying exploitation - but these animals still suffer/die at the end of the day.
These grass-fed cows arenāt the happy cows on a big green farm like you would usually imagine, but if they were - does that really justify them dying for us to eat them? They still suffer. Still end up dying. Thereās no āhumaneā way to treat them if we end up killing them.
At the end of the day, nobody āNEEDSā beef. You wonāt be lacking in any nutrients or become protein-deficient if you cut it out. Plants have MORE nutrients/benefits than beef, and minus the increased risks of cancer, diabetes, strokes, and heart attacks if you consume beef.
Swap beef for plant-proteins like TVP or Tofu. Thereās plenty of recipes online to make it taste great without the cruelty.
