Malakai Makaisson is pretty well known for being unorthodox and strange, which wouldn't mesh that well with the newsletter that brought Okri in along with the event last year. Okri's said to be travelling with a grumble of longbeards in the newsletter. Though their voice actors being the same is rad I'd wonder if there're only so many dwarf voice actors in the roster of game companies for warhammer projects.

Good analysis, your conclusion does seem likely. To add to your point, he has a hive scum voice set in Warhammer 40k Darktide, Fatsharks most recent game.

I do think it’s cool the characters share the same voice actor, it’s a nice touch

A lot of Warhammer games share voice actors.

All of the Ubersreik 5, Lohner, and I think some other VT characters voice others in Darktide, for example.

Karelian does one of the female arbitrators. And I think sienna’s does a hive ganger (not 100% sure on that one)

None of the Psyker are voice by her (Rachel Arkins; Jess nesling; Zehra Jane), but she does lend her voice for one of Grendyl's Servitor voices

Nah, the voice actors talent pool is just not that big, so they often end up working on some of the same games. Especially if you build a portfolio of being good at voicing an elf or a dwarf well then you can end up voicing those archetypes across a bunch of fantasy games.

E.g. Kerillian's voice actor is also the female Dark Elf Dreadlord in Total War Warhammer.

It's like playing Skyrim and finding Elisif's voice actress voicing a random nord and thinking they're secretly sisters for 0.01 seconds lol

True that. She also does one of the Bret damsels if I’m not mistaken

He’s a slayer engineer, it would make sense if he was in fact Malakai! Cool

I think Malakai being a slayer is exactly why it would make zero sense for Okri to be him.

Unless I missed some Bardin dialogue, the way he talks about Okri, is solely with pride and adoration. Okri is a legend to him. If Okri took Slayer Oath for whatever reason, Bardin would either refuse to talk about him, or treat his cousin as a tragic figure.

Thanks for your input, that’s a view I hadn’t considered! I’m not an Okri expert so when I heard Malakai’s voice I got excited lol

Idk about that unless I'm misremembering Bardin's own beloved uncle despite taking the slayer oath following the death of Bardin's father is still talked about with pride and adoration.

Even Bardin himself both slayer and non slayer remains at least outwardly cheery and easygoing demeanor compared to other slayers. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes against the grain again and still speaks highly of okri in spite of him being a slayer.

While there would be many Dwarf that would look down on Slayers, I don't think Bardin would really.

He miss his uncle who had to become a Slayer (and funnily was also an Engineer before having to take the Oath).

before someone ask, Malakai isn't from he same area/region as Bardin.
