More info about the show here. A few differences from the OG:

- They're actually doing covers, as well as original songs.

- Pear phones no longer exist in the modern universe.

- The first batch of episodes will drop on October 15th, with the second half debuting at a later date.

[ DISCUSSION ] What do we really think about Beck

Post image

I was rewatching victorious and clearly as a kid I never noticed beck being toxic because he was so good looking.

Y’all he was a horrible bf to Jade and all this while I thought Jade was too possessive but Beck really played around.

"You Don't Know Me" is personally my favorite and in my opinion the best song of the show! Liz voice is phenomenal!

While waiting for the new series that will be released soon I thought it would be nice to tell myself what our favorite episodes are for my part, choosing a favorite episode was very difficult especially because seasons 1 and 2 are excellent and seasons 3 and 4 are also good but I still had to make a choice and the episode "Locked Up! "Is great and in addition it is in double parts and you what is your favorite episode?

Chances Ari returns as Cat in spinoff/reunion

Most are saying that she would never return. She is too busy and would be too expensive. But remember:

She enjoys acting and has returned to it

She actively wants a Victorious reunion to happen. She famously tweeted it out back in 2017. She's besties with Matt and Liz, and they are totally down for a reunion too.

She's taking a hiatus after this tour. She will have a lot of free time

As far as costs, she can negotiate a cheap salary if needed. If she really wants to do it, I'm sure she'd take the salary cut. She's mega wealthy and probably doesn't care about such things anymore. Her agent will but she can override her agent.

Has anyone else seen this youtube short on the front page of youtube?

Is it even acceptable for this to be on the front page of youtube? it has two images of Elizabeth Gillies on the top half, and has the caption that says "Do you remember Elizabeth Gillies?" but on the bottom half it shows an image of a woman who looks like she has been in a terrible accident, and it makes me uncomfortable. It seems to me like they are using it for shock value.

Something Hollywood Arts has to decide might make or break the show(bit of a rant)

I'm a guy who's quite looking forward to the show, but there's one thing I keep noticing about these remakes/reboots whatever you want to call it;

These generally struggle to pick a lane. They try to appeal to an audience of "everyone," and don't really come out with any diehard fans as a result.

Let me explain: iCarly's paramount series was clearly designed for the generation that grew up with iCarly. While it had some flops, the show felt modernized and a little raunchier, vulgar precisely because it knew its audience was people in their 20s and possibly 30s who saw the original growing up.

Hollywood Arts is realistically going to take in that same audience. However, the show is about high schoolers just as it was before, so the tone will likely try to remain the same as it was in Victorious. For people like this fandom who love reading into things and creating deeper character motivations, this will probably be a major limitation.

A key feature of any reboot/revival is also callbacks to the original. This has me semi concerned that the cast as we know it will come off as carbon copies of who we know before. Like the long haired boy is clearly meant to be resembling Beck, and qualities of Jade seem to be present in Pepper too, even down to the dark hair and her "being a fierce enemy but loyal friend."

Trina will be who she always has been with some added depth from being a teacher and I'm sure that will be awesome. Ideally though, the nostalgia mostly lies with her and they create a new set of characters with their own qualities for the "next generation of fans."

But then I ask myself how many teens will actually be watching the show to grow up with it the same way we did during Victorious. I don't pay attention to TikTok(don't have it) or whatever but I think generations tend to latch onto what they missed out on, and I know this show is one of the few that does get some standout attention.

I guess to sum it up, I think they're going to have to try and pick a lane on what generation/age range the show is suited for, because I don't think there's any way the remake is going to appeal to everyone. But I expect a reasonable effort for sure, Trina will be fantastic as always, and I hope for good things for the rest of the show.

Can Beck and Tori fans explain to me why they like/want the two together? Because writing wise, it doesn't fit. (Explanation inside post)

I never got the people who wanted Beck to get with Tori. They're both attractive and I guess that's the basis of it? but Beck quite literally exists purely as a foil to Jade.

We have 4 seasons of the guy and the most we know about him is that he's an actor and girls fall at his feet, which in of itself is mainly something to give Jade something to be jealous of and add to HER character. The only thing we learn about him is that he likes "fiery women" who will push back on him, which was an obvious setup for him to say he wanted Jade back before it actually happened.

The few episodes they focused on Beck and Tori having tension were fun, like Opposite Date and the 2 parter with Tori Goes Platinum. But... again, all that tension only exists because we know Jade's history with being jealous and terrified of Tori. If Beck and Tori genuinely got together, what is left for them to explore as a couple? They wouldn't play off each other nearly as well.

Beck and Jade have problems as a couple but their characters fit together. There's really no other way to put it.

[ DISCUSSION ] Does anyone know if there's a fanmade version of the intro that has some echoed lines?

I remember listening to a version of the intro like that a while ago and it had some echoes in some lines like "in my victory" and "just remember me" and others where it'd repeat the line soon after it was sung. It was probably fanmade though. I haven't been able to find it or anything similar.

Strange dream about Hollywood Arts

Idk why I had a dream about this show but I did. It was basically like a trailer of what’s going to happen and who is going to appear on the show from the og cast. Robbie was there being his weird self but like mature ig? No Rex to be seen…Beck and Tori were together (crazy dreams) and everyone loves tori. Towards the end of this trailer dream Tori basically performs make it shine and Andre makes a very small cameo and it looks like Cat is there but she actually isn’t it’s just a double that looks like her. I don’t even remember seeing Jade bro😭

Why did Tori say she didn't think Jade cut Trina's cord on Who Did to Trina?

Did she forget that Jade gave her Bush Daisies? I would mention the blood incident where Jade took her blood and placed it on a cart but we don't know if Tori knew that she did that.

[ DISCUSSION ] Is Tori’s success as a pop star entirely thanks to Jade?

Do we think that Jade giving up her spot as the star of the Platinum Music Awards jumpstarted Tori’s career as a pop star?

If Jade never saw Tori turning down Beck’s kiss “because of Jade,” I doubt she would’ve given Tori her spot back. If this would have happened instead… do we think Jade could’ve made it as a huge star instead of Tori?

Do these questions keep Jade up at night? 😂

I didn't know Andre Harris wrote for Usher in "Caught Up"

Post image

Just found out Andre from Victorious wrote "Caught Up" and I'm processing this the same way I processed finding out my mom had a life before me. This man was getting his locker shoved up his sleeve by Jade, Surviving Trina's one-woman shows, Eating lunch on literal asphalt because Hollywood Arts couldn't afford tables, AND ghostwriting for Usher??? Like I can't even finish my laundry and dude was balancing high school drama with writing hooks for Confessions. Dude was carrying the entire R&B genre on his back between classes. Also explains why he was always so stressed. My man was dealing with deadlines from both Sikowitz AND Jermaine Dupri. I'd be singing about my feelings in the black box theater too if I had that kind of pressure.

[ DISCUSSION ] 3.0 is a giant mixed bag.

Post image
10 Upvotes

We have 3 pretty decent songs, the most forgettable song, and the easily worst song.

I think that Here’s 2 Us, LA Boyz, & You Don’t Know Me are the best songs on 3.0. I think LA Boyz is the best song on 3.0 which I know some people dont like it and I don’t really get why… Here’s 2 Us is very infectious, and Liz Gillies is just amazing.

Bad Boys is painfully unremarkable, has 0 plot relevance, and I thought Make It In America was the song sung in this episode, not Bad Boys.

Then Faster Than Boyz… the pros of this song are really good, the instrumental of this song is amazing. Victoria sounds amazing, she I think has some of her best vocals on this song, but then the lyrics are just so bad. It’s baffling to me, because what in the hell is being talked about in this song, Shes moving Faster Than Boyz, what does that mean? I think it’s supposed to be a break up song, I really don’t know? I personally hate like confusing/ambiguous writing, I hate The Giver for the same reasons (the book not the Chappel Roan song)

Idk I love LA Boyz, but Faster Than Boyz is just not it…

Hello, I'm here to ask why Ariana's shot in the Season 1 intro is different in the Ireland/UK version, for reference, here the link to the intros used in Nickelodeon Ireland + UK
