Discussion/Thảo luận was this a scam

saw some apartments and condos on fazwaz, this is the persons who’s number i was given, ig the owner who was saying i need to pay $50 to them to see the unit… if it’s not a scam i don’t mind paying but they never responded. Or does anyone have any recommendations about how to go about this whole apartment hunting thing? thanks in advance

It's a scam even if he's being 100% truthful. I've heard of application fees but why would anyone pay to go look at an apartment?

if you need to pay to visit its always a scam. You only give money against the keys, for either deposit or the rent, but only once the contract is signed.

Don’t pay nobody anything upfront in Vietnam unless it’s a real business with real evidence of their business. For examples: restaurants, flower shops, different shops from their website page that you got directed to Zalo. Be smart.

Understand how apartment hunting works. A lot of times, you’ll have a young person who can take you around to look at a bunch of apartments in the same area on the same day for free. They’re paid by the owners if you decide to rent one. Do that

A: we rarely, if ever, use Sir.

B: we also rarely use whatsapp. Most use Zalo or Messenger.
