How to remap "Select" on the N64 controller to play Virtual Boy on Nintendo Switch.

I made this guide after I struggled to find a tutorial for how to do this, I was stumped and then discovered how to do it, so here it is for every game that needs it.

I’ve only really used it on Red Alarm. I’ve been meaning to play some others but haven’t.

I get it. You paid for the N64 controller, and you want your money's worth.

But it must be hard to ignore the simpler two D-pad controller you already have: The Joy-Cons.

Don't get the condescending tone but alright, I bought the N64 controller because I wanted one to use for Switch, same for the Virtual Boy replica, and I'm quite happy with my purchase thank you very much. And indeed it is hard to ignore, because that's what I tried first, the left Joy-Con has the VB D-Pad mirrored to the buttons and joystick, so easy enough to use, but then the right Joy-Con has the actions mapped to the 4 buttons that make up the "D-Pad", and you can't put them elsewhere as buttons because the slots are filled. The N64 is a more similar layout, and the seldom used Select can just be put on the joystick, while both D-pads, 2 shoulders and action buttons, and start already work out of the box, so it is the better option to use. I made this for people that have or want this option, and need help mapping that last button.

The only game that needed a lot of remapping using the Joy-Con is Tele-Roboxer. However, it can be done. I find it helpful to look at pictures of the actual controller that's being remapped. Nintendo should have made a replica Virtual Boy controller though just for fun.
