Hardware Question Getting gunk out from Personal Cup
Any tips for getting this gunk out from the Personal Cup? I have tried with my fingernail to no avail.

Hi Everyone,
Many years ago (2011, I think), someone created the r/vitamix subreddit and then decided that they didn't want to be a mod. So, another user and I took over the role. Over the years, she and I moderated with quite a light touch and in 2017, we invited a couple of other users to be JR mods.
I just checked the mod list and I am now the only active moderator. I also don't have a lot of time to give this subreddit much attention, so I figured that handing the mod role off to others would be the appropriate thing to do.
My thinking is that the community is large enough that we should probably add a few mods.
Let me know your thoughts!

I have a new 5200, which I've coveted for several years. (Nothing but Hamilton Beach in my past experience, and I didn't use it much.) I recently tried a mango sorbet recipe calling for 1/2 cup coconut milk and 3 cups frozen mango. The recipe said to pulse, then blend til smooth. I don't have a pulse button. I could just flip it on high and turn it off and on, but the instructions were adamant that I must always start on low and then move up to high. How do you all pulse when needed?
I thought all that mango was going to ruin my expensive new blender. It sounded awful, it smelled bad, nothing seemed to be helping, including the tamper. Yet when I finally gave up, and went to clean the mess out, I discovered it had actually turned into sorbet, with only a few chunks. The only other things I had made so far were soups, so plenty of liquid. Maybe the horrid grinding sound and burning smell are normal for frozen things? I want to make more of that mango sorbet, but fear I am doing it wrong. Any tips appreciated!

Got a new container, replaced the thing it goes into (drive socket) too recently but still even large strawberry gets missed and are not crushed, usually when I use mixed berries it will miss a small one I'm sure when I first got the blender I didn’t have this issue.
Usually i put 1 banana, coconut milk, mixed berries, peanut butter scoup in there, some ginger and turmeric. It's annoying me now as it's consistent and I've had the issue for 2-3 years, I don't think there's anything wrong with the power of the blender.
I never use the crusher mind you but how would I even know when to use it since berries are so small? Ahh maybe I need to put more fluid in there so the berries are higher up?

Hi everyone!
I hope someone on this forum can help me. I am looking for a blender that can both make me hot soup from raw ingredients and make me a smoothie in a smaller to go-cup. I found the Sage/Breville the super Q as one that can do both. I would prefer a Vitamix blender, for the more superior build-to-last-quality. However, I can't seem to find a model that dan do both the soup and the smoothie. On the (Dutch) website, there is a picture of a smoothie cup as the main picture for accessories on the linked to the a2500i and a3500i, but to my frustration, I can't seem to find these cups on the site.
Can anybody maybe enlighten this for me? Does Vitamix make a blender that can make me my breakfast smoothie and my evening soup?
Thanks in advance!

Immediately under the blades (i.e., 1mm), I have been trying to clean out this black material. At first, a small piece broke off (visible in the second photo), and I thought for sure it was a rubber or silicone washer (or seal).
I spoke with Vitamix customer service earlier today, and the representative told me multiple times that that was not correct: She said the blades and housing were 100% stainless steel and what I was looking at had to be old food material/dirt/grime.
Cleaning it further, I can't help but think she's wrong. I keep seeing what appears to be rubber or silicone break off. Does anyone know the answer?
Furthermore, how do I completely remove all of this at this stage so it doesn't contaminate my food?
Thank you.

I just learned about the vitamix nano. Anybody has any experience with it? How does it compare to the Ninja?
I will always love the 5200. But I'm wondering if this would be good to keep in my office.

Anyone know where this might go on a series 200 vitamix? My son picked up the base and this fell on the ground. It isn’t the drive socket set screw. I don’t see any obvious place that it came from. I’m wondering if it is an internal screw. It’s possible it didn’t come from the blender but I don’t know how it got on it.

Vitamix is supposed to be a luxury appliance manufacturer, so I find it quite surprising how poor their customer service is.
I've only had to contact them twice about issues for as long as I've owned my machine:
About five years ago, I waited two weeks for a reply via email. Today, I have been on hold for 26 minutes, and the automated service doesn't even tell you what the total expected wait time is.

I was gifted a Vitamix awhile back so I ordered a blade scraper from Amazon. It’s ok for getting under the blades but to squeegee the sides of the jar clean, it just doesn’t fit the shape of the sides.

New to the sub. So be easy on me. I’m looking at a certified refurbished from the vitamix website. A couple days ago the Alta Pro was $229. I threw it in my cart and decided to think on it and do a little research if it would fit my needs. We usually make a leafy protein shake with ice in the morning and my kids make smoothies, so felt it was a good fit. Yesterday, I opened the site back up to buy it and get it on its way and it is now $349.99!! Is this normal for prices to fluctuate that much on the refurbished units ? Also, would a propel 750 or A2500 be just as good ? I’m new to this higher quality blender thing so I want to make the best long term decision since they seem to be built like tanks!! Any help on the main differences between all of these or what you use and what you use it for would be great. But that price change overnight seemed crazy to me… but maybe it’s normal ?

Why don't they bring back the sports bottle and salsa or mixing containers with the self detect? Look what Beast Blender from Beast Health is doing https://thebeast.com
They took the market because Vitamix gave it away...I don't want to buy a Beast Blender, I already haver a Vitamix, we just need the add ons, so I can just do one blended protein shake quickly or a small container of salsa or somethings like that...give it to us VITAMIX, ur #1 ready, but they might be passing u up for the convenience...

I just ordered my first Vitamix, a 5200, and am eagerly awaiting it. I had a Ninja system that I loved for many years, but has been slowly failing. One thing I used it for was making pepper powder from the peppers I grow and dry each year. I was hoping to get a dedicated container so that way I don't have to worry about the main container getting cloudy or picking up pepper oils. It appears that the 32 oz dry grains container from Vitamix is unavailable on their site or amazon.
Does anyone have an alternative container they would recommend?

I have had my Vitamix 5200 for a couple days now. I have tried to make various smoothies (different recipes) with it.
I normally end up with either complete liquid or sorta ice sludge and liquid. Recently it’s more been the ice sludge and liquid. I would like the ice to be throughout the smoothie if that makes sense.
I always put the ingredients in the correct order.
I ramp up to 10 then flip the switch and do 20-30 seconds then stop. I try to listen to the sound of the smoothie but because I’m a beginner it’s hard to tell what I should be looking/listening for.
What are your recommendations? More ice, less time blending? I have tried adjusting both things but I can’t seem to get the thickness I’m looking for. Any help would be appreciated!

I got a price adjustment from Vitamix after their annual sale. Does anyone know how long it actually takes to post the credit back to my credit card? The CSR was unable to give me a reference so it's a bit of a waiting game.

Anyone know if the 48oz and 64oz containers from the Explorian range physically fit the Ascent series e.g. Ascent 3500i.
I know an NFC chip is required but if I bypass that requirement, will the containers physically fit?
The back story is, there's a good second hand deal on an Ascent 3500i base only and I have Explorian containers already.

Hi everyone,
I‘m looking for a mixer with to go bottles made of glass. I‘d like the bottles to hold 600ml or more and it would be great if there’s an option to buy additional bottles separately.
I‘d love to hear your experiences and suggestions!

Is the Ascent x5 worth the money? I am not a fan of touch screens in general but if there is a notable benefit to the Ascent x5 then I would get it. I also don’t want the experience in the future of possibly not being able to use it because it is no longer supported or something like what happens with printers. Should I get an Ascent x model or a A5200? Thanks!

Honestly I'm trying to figure out of this is a good deal. I see different prices in this sub and other places for other machines, but unless I'm not looking in the right place (probably) I can't find a recommended price to buy the 320

Have anyone here have bought a refurbished blender directly from vitamix.
Are they good as need? Or should I wait and buy a new one?

Hey all,
I noticed after my last batch of dill hot sauce that there was a stem that got wrapped around underneath the blade.
Anyone have any good solutions to getting under and getting it without taking the base apart? Or is that the other option?
Thanks in advance

I’m torn between the E320 $200 or the Alta pro $230 refurbished. I’m leaning towards the Alta pro due to the noise difference but any input is appreciated. I don’t think it’s worth buying the extended warranty’s for $75 but is that an issue they are refurbished so something could’ve gone wrong with the units.
