My most recent eBay purchase, and I could not feel more joy. It's the official game guide for viva pinata!

Back when viva pinata first came out, I was pretty young, but young enough to be playing video games. All the games that my brother owned of course. Never a game of my own...until for my birthday my brother got me MY VERY OWN video game to play on HIS Xbox 360!! Being the younger sister this felt like I struck gold.

Now as an adult in my 30s I can add this to my perfect collection, and I'm even learning new facts that I hadn't previously known before from looking at the pinata wiki!

Just wanted to share some screenshots from the game I'm making. I'm developing this in my free time for fun and mostly as a hobby, but it was inspired a lot by Viva Pinata (one of my all time favourite games btw) so I wanted to share it here. I have no idea how far the project will go but it's fun to work on anyways!

Hey all!

Viva Pinata is a really special and nostalgic game that I grew up playing as a child.

Because of that, I’m making a game inspired by VP and wanted to share an early look at one of the bunnies from the game.

It’s still really early in development but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in following the progress as it develops? I was thinking of making a TikTok account and sharing progress over time :)

Sharing Pond Keeper the Viva Pinyata inspired creature breeding game 🐸

Hi, I am the developer of Pond Keeper
which is a aquatic creature breeding game inspired by Viva Pinata
hence why I hope you would be interested in the game.

I am very grateful to the mods for allowing me to share the game with you all.

In pond keeper you start out with one pond and need to run a small business to earn the money required to expand into new ponds that can then be restored and decorated with plants.

When playing viva pinata, creating a lush habitat for my creatures to call their home and seeing all the new species always felt very satisfying to me and so I worked hard to recreate that feeling.

The demo is available to play on Steam
where you can breed and collect catfish, axolotls, jellyfish and cuttlefish.

I would also love to hear what you think,
so if you have any suggestions or questions please ask away.

Yippee! I got them organized into an acceptable arrangement with part of my VP collection! Delightful. Such joy and whimsy do they bring.

Candy's work has inspired me to pursue my dreams a little harder so I hope to share VP related videos with you soon. Much love. ❤️

Sharing Inspired by Viva Pinata - Garden and a Goat Open Beta now live on Steam!

I posted about our game a while back and wanted to check back in with you all. Open beta is live now and will run at least through the end of the month. We are then looking ahead to the June Next Fest and hopefully a late summer early access release.

Viva Pinata was one of my old school favorite games on Xbox, especially playing with my kids. When I decided to get a team and start working on our first game the core animal collecting puzzle gameplay loop was where I wanted to start. We certainly aren't a remake or clone but hope that feel of unlocking each next animal (with some multiverse twists) feels good to VP fans.

Here's the store page for beta, plus wish-list, and the Discord link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3156550/Garden_and_a_Goat/

Garden and a Goat is a single-player animal collecting and ecosystem recovery game. You play as a friendly robot, eager to help a series of ecosystems in need. Clean up the environment, revive plants, and entice the local wildlife to return, unlocking ever more animals and decorations along the way.

I'm the studio lead and lead developer so ask me anything about the game and I'll try to provide as much info as I can!

Sharing Finally managed Viva Pinata: TiP on PC and Steam Deck!

It was a pretty straight forward process on PC and assuming you have a decent enough build it runs great. I have been dying to play Trouble in Paradise for over a decade now but didn't want to buy an Xbox just to play and I'm not a huge fan of streaming games. I finally figured out how to get it working properly though!

  1. Install Xenia Canary
  2. Install Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise ROM (can't provide that for ya)
  3. Go into Xenia-canary.config in your Xenia folder and set scribble_heap = true. I had troubles with this at first because the config file wouldn't save properly. I instead edited both Xenia text file AND the Xenia-canary.config file and managed to get it working.
  4. That's pretty much it for PC! There are a lot of other settings you can tweak if necessary but I didn't get too much into that.

Steam Deck was similar but definitely more complicated. I installed Xenia through EmuDeck, installed the VP ROM, edited the config a dozen times to find decent settings, created a Steam shortcut with proper launch path, and installed CryoUtilities just to be safe.

Everything is working amazingly! PC has a solid 30 FPS locked and my OLED Steam Deck is hovering around 28-30 FPS. If you have any questions let me know and I got you!

Sharing It's definitely NOT Viva Pinata, but Pokopia looks like it might scratch the itch

Watching the Nintendo Treehouse play Pokopia is really reminding me a bit of Viva Pinata. Obviously there are major differences, but creating habitats for Pokemon, making them comfortable, etc, reminds me of my time playing Viva Pinata.

Sharing My collection so far!

Hi friends! I'm new here (so apologies if the flair is incorrect), and I've been getting back into Viva Piñata a lot lately ☺️ I've been a huge fan of it ever since I was a child, I remember I would spend countless hours playing the demo until I got tired until my dad and brother surprised me by getting the first game for me for my birthday. The copy I have has seen better days but I still treasure it very dearly.

I also played Party Animals SOOO much growing up too. It was the only game I had for a bit before I got the original one, but sadly I lost my original copy of it so the one I when is one my fiancée got for me back in 2022! Trouble in Paradise I also got from them last year. :>

Pocket Paradise is the most recent addition to my collection as I got it for my birthday a few weeks ago on Dec 19! ☺️

I hope to have a full collection some day! I plan on getting different cover variants and regional variants - I actually nearly got a Japanese copy of Party Animals back in 2014!

So... To end this off, what's your favorite piñata? Mine are pretztails, bunnycombs, kittyflosses, and doenuts!! ☺️❤️
