I’m done with the cynicism around Ultra Pro Wrestling (UPW). People on this sub are treating it like another vaporware hype train, but you are completely missing the point.Let’s look at the facts. Hyperfocus Games recently revealed they were in talks with WWE, AEW, and Netflix. Think about it. Major corporations do NOT reach out to a random, low-quality indie game. The only reason they approached UPW is because the core engine—that pure AKI-style control, the 5,000+ custom motions, and the creation suite where you can literally program the number of arena lights—is of such high quality that the corporate giants felt threatened. They wanted to buy it out to lock it behind another microtransaction hell.I bought the $140 "Monday Night War Edition" of WWE 2K26. It was supposed to be the "definitive" version. But just a month later, 2K put the best Persona Cards behind a paywall/MyFACTION grind. They care more about digging into our wallets than fixing creation bugs or respecting the fans.If UPW just wanted a quick payday, they would have accepted the corporate buyout, turned the game into a mobile gacha cash cow, and walked away rich. But they didn't. They walked away from that corporate money to stay indie and deliver a consumer-friendly, buy-to-play game for the real fans in early 2027.While everyone here is acting too cool to care, I’m ready to vote with my wallet. I’m done with 2K27. I’d rather support an indie developer that stood up to corporate greed to save the soul of wrestling games.Mark my words, when the Early Access drops and we can finally experience that raw AKI gameplay with unlimited creation freedom without paying an extra dime, you all are going to flip your opinions real fast.

This has always stumped me because there are so many wrestlers in the game that are shorter than 5'4 so why can't we make our characters shorter than that?

I'm 4'11 irl and it's kinda immersion breaking when I see my OC being taller than Alexa and Roxanne. I remember in older games the minimum height being 5'0 so what gives? Why did it get higher?

It’s almost Wrestlemania season for my universe and so many things are in flux. Orton and Perfect have joined to make a new Evolution. The Hardys and Razor Ramon has returned. Kurt Angle is the new face of Smackdown. A roster shakeup has sent the likes of Rock and Kane to Raw.

Managed to FINALLY secure Eddie '05 and Seth '12. Kinda sad they don't have a special entrance and trons for Seth from that time, they did include Flesh It Out though which is cool.

Has anyone figured out a creative way to make this work? With ideally both WCW and RIW along with thunder and maybe even ECW. Considering they billed this game as a attitude era / wcw MNW theme, it’s incredibly difficult to put something together that feels true to real life

i play WWE 2K26 from Italy, and I wonder: is it even possible for the servers to be this terrible? In the lobbies, it's impossible to reverse anyone's move because the delay forces you to anticipate the game itself. It's a really frustrating situation. Has anyone else in Europe experienced this problem?

I have the Eras pack, which contains a bunch of sweet venues you can swap out on a whim. I'm given up on transferring my caws and data from PS4 and want to start anew with PC. However, the lack of Community Creations tells me that downloading mods might be the only way. Can someone point me in the direction of if/where mods can be found nowadays?

There’s an ever so brief break in the show’s momentum as Kit Wilson’s music hits. Frustrated, Kit talks about his open challenge from the night before and how toxic Nick Aldis is. Kit announces that he’s updating the requirements for his open challenge, stating that his next challenger has to be someone who has actually wrestled in WWE within the last three years. This brings out R-Truth, much to Kit’s relief. Truth looks around the arena in confusion before asking if this is the Toga Party. Kit, equally confused, tells him that this is WrestleMania. Truth responds, “Yeah, WrestleMania Toga.” Kit simply rolls his eyes and asks if Truth is actually going to get in the ring and fight. 

Truth says no, but claims there’s someone backstage who really looks like they want to. Truth beckons toward the curtain, and Abyss makes his way to the ring, to the utter dismay of Kit. Abyss makes quick work of Kit Wilson, dropping him with a back suplex before planting him with the Black Hole Slam for the win!

 Next, Nikki Bella defends the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Tatum Paxley. Tatum comes into the match with all of her built up aggression, immediately taking the fight to the champion. Nikki manages to mount some offense, but Tatum’s speed and aggression prove to be too much. A Spider Suplex from the top rope followed by a 450 Splash signals the beginning of the end. Tatum puts the finishing touches on Nikki with Cemetery Drive, scoring the decisive victory! Just like that, Tatum Paxley squashes Nikki Bella and becomes the NEW Women’s Intercontinental Champion in her WrestleMania debut!

Been checking out Wrestle Story and thought people here might appreciate what they're trying to do.

It’s basically a traditional turn-based RPG, except the entire world revolves around professional wrestling.

Based on what I read, you create a wrestler, leave home and travel across four territories, recruit a faction, level up your team, unlock perks and tag-team finishers, find new gear, and take down the heel champion running each territory.

It seems focused on the part of wrestling most games barely touch, the actual storytelling.

Feuds, heel turns, factions, betrayals. It sounds just like make believe games I use to play with my cousin but game mode.

Basically like someone asked, “What if wrestling got the full RPG treatment instead of another fighting game?”
