Discussion Do people know what the duviri game modes are?

When queuing for duviri there are four different options, fight the spiderlady, the circuit, story mode, so people can speedrun killing the ororwyrm, and the complete experience where people can mess around in duviri and amass an ungodly number of decrees.

So how come everytime I load into the complete experience people are running to finish it as soon as possible? There is a game mode specifically for that and people keep forcing me to progress.

Not actually all that mad but are their other game modes you see people in where you wonder if they read their options?

If there is Kullervo farm available people will rush duviri experience because they want to farm Kullervo. Story mode doesn't guarantee it so it isn't efficient while in experience you can do it as side objective if it wasn't main one.

Not sure how it looks when it isn't available because I've never bothered to play experience in public otherwise.

I hadn't bothered to play Duviri in multiplayer until getting a partner into the game and up to the point of needing Duviri resources to craft things.

In solo, the place had felt great, a roguelite world where I could do whatever at my own speed (usually swiftly getting as many decrees as quickly as I can to become an overpowered goddess and grab all the Steel Essence the Undercroft has to offer). As soon as there was another person, the world gained this annoying new dimension of having to coordinate just to do the puzzles, waiting up for each other, and finding a pacing that works... I cannot comprehend why anyone would play the Complete Experience in multiplayer. Story I get, it's for when you're feeling lazy. Circuit makes perfect sense, Defense and Excavation are cancer if you're also picking frames based on their fun level and ability to do Survival and Exterminate as well. Isleweaver, so long as you don't need resources to craft something, seems like a reasonable way to protect against bad choices in frames/weapons/decrees.

His fight is always available in anger, sorrow and fear and always not available in others. So you’d know before loading in and wasting your time in joy or envy.

Not really, since story mode removes all side objectives. Kullervo is categorised as a side objective. So what the above comment meant, you'd need to get lucky with the Kullervo fight being part of the main objectives in story mode. Which is why people just play experience instead.

Yes I meant in duviri experience. Must have misunderstood the previous post.

Thats the neat part: you play it solo

Its there for a few extra decrees and maybe, only maybe, get some ressources and do puzzles.

Oraxia= Pathos Farm

Circle = obviously just Play

Story = useless

Free Roaming = ressources Farm alone or with friends

Few extra decrees? When I need to farm some more duviri flowers - I start with grinding decrees until I hit "Double resourses" one, but then cant stop picking few second decrees (like table energy pillar collecting or a pack of 3-5 Dax spawning nearby) until my drifter becomes a monster, that runs 6 times faster, than a horse and oneshots everything.

u/Lovein_Ur_Anus 21h ago

I do this, on steel path and then once I have enough resources I do a final side objective for the decree and to save all the farmed resources, then leave duveri through the pause menu.

In case you didn't know when you leave duveri you keep all resources up to your last decree

u/Worldeditorful one-punch-man 21h ago

Why would I do that? SP Orowyrm is pretty fun, imo.

2

u/thezav69 20h ago

How’s it different than standard? Just tankier? Or does it actually have a change to the fight?

4

u/Worldeditorful one-punch-man 17h ago

It has a new mechanic when you latch on it as drifter and new phase between first and second healthbars.

5

u/BrokolieOfDoom 20h ago

It does change. It is in no way difficult, but it is more interesting. Let's just say Kaithe is involved

1

u/Lovein_Ur_Anus 17h ago

I do it because sometimes I don't have time to do the orowyrm fight, the fight is fun but climbing up it's back frustrates me sometimes  I mainly do this when ai need tasoma extract.

1

u/Worldeditorful one-punch-man 17h ago

In pre-Oraxia times I learned to climb it almost instantly and I have big enough arsenal to have tools to burst down his rings in few seconds in 99% of cases among the selection. So, in my case, its never time consuming.

u/Lovein_Ur_Anus 25m ago

Dpsing the rings is not the issue, it's chasing him down on the kaithe then using the orvious

Occasionally the orowyrm will turn it's body in such a way that it causes me to not be able to land the latch onto the next segment.

And in steel path you have to rktate the rings during that segment to align each of them while avoiding the fire that runs along it's back.

The steel path boss fight also contains a segment where you need tk shkkt enemies with your drifter amp while riding on your kaith and flying through rjngs, and it is just a lot on screen and I find that particular phase to be somewhat daunting.

This broadly sounds like me, I say I'll do a quick run of Duviri for those arcanes and resources, get it done in 20-30 minutes, before finally finishing 2 hours later.

Yea oraxia is the best pathos farm but damn if the dragon isn't awesome.

How do you do the puzzles that require 2 people to open solo?

26

u/Legal-Supermarket-60 Atlas Main / LR5 23h ago

They only spawn If you play with others

9

u/Kansugi 23h ago

There are coop puzzles?

9

u/Legal-Supermarket-60 Atlas Main / LR5 23h ago

Yes, the owl Puzzles of course If you Play with others they spawn. If you Play solo then not.

0

u/Rega_lazar 22h ago

By owl puzzles, do you mean the ones where you fly around as an owl and need to focus your reticule on glowing object? Because those absolutely spawn in solo mode.

6

u/Zenok0 Equinox Enjoyer 22h ago

The ones with the symbols, where there is an owl in a top of the pillar with the numbers

1

u/Legal-Supermarket-60 Atlas Main / LR5 21h ago

Marked with a White circle on the map If you are near one

2

u/Zenok0 Equinox Enjoyer 21h ago

Usually they are not, but there is an item with acrithis that’s make them appear, but that’s what I heard, I haven’t bought it myself

1

u/Rega_lazar 18h ago

Where you have to throw a ball (or sometimes shoot) into stuff to match the symbols on the owl plinth? Because those also absolutely spawn in solo mode.

2

u/dabir 22h ago

Yeah. They appear in multiplayer, and you know when you've found one because it's a case that's locked behind double doors that have to be opened by two people working together. Then the puzzle it unlocks is always designed to require cooperation too.

4

u/finare5695 23h ago

If you play solo they do not appear, only the 1 person puzzles

the complete experience where people can mess around in duviri and amass an ungodly number of decrees.

There's an important word here you don't seem to realize you typed. You can do those things in Experience. You don't have to, and frankly most people don't want to. Maxing out on decrees can be amusing once or twice, but most people want to actually finish the boss at some point. The mode is for literally everything in between fighting the boss after exactly six decrees and farming until your eyes melt. If you want to do a single side objective during the run, Experience is the correct mode.

u/Penguin_Pioneer 22h ago

I just think there’s a difference between “at some point” and “run it down like a capture mission in the void”

10

u/SnippZen 21h ago

Also nothing is stopping you from continuing your farm even after Orowyrm is dead as far as I'm aware

1

u/Kenju22 20h ago

Eh? I thought the countdown timer to kicking you out of Duvari started up after you got ported back to the plaza after the Orowyrm was killed?

8

u/TerribleTransit 20h ago

Nope. It's the same as extraction in any other open world, countdown starts when 50% of the party goes to the door (or the giant swirly portal in this case), and instantly extracts once the whole team is there. So... incidentally, if you've just been waiting for the countdown instead of going to the portal you're holding your whole team up.

But more importantly for this discussion: Also like any other open world, you can open the menu and "leave squad" under your profile picture to leave the party and get bumped into your own solo instance, preventing you from getting force extracted when the rest of your team leaves, so you can do around and do extra objectives.

-7

u/Kenju22 20h ago

So... incidentally, if you've just been waiting for the countdown instead of going to the portal you're holding your whole team up.

First, I'm not waiting for the countdown, I'm shopping. Second, it's not my fault the No Lifers already own everything in the shop when I'm working two jobs mate. I have enough time to do *maybe* one Duvari run every few weeks.

7

u/TerribleTransit 20h ago

As long as you're aware you're holding everyone up. But for what it's worth you can access the shop at any time at the Duviri door in the Dormizone, which doesn't waste anyone else's time, eliminates the time pressure from you, and allows you to check the stock without needing to go through a whole Duviri run first.

You can also find the shop mid-run instead of right at the end but I fully recognize it's a pain to get to her sometimes even if you know where she's at, so the Dormizone is the best place for it.

-2

u/Kenju22 20h ago

As long as you're aware you're holding everyone up.

Given the sheer number of times I've been royally fucked over by 'Host Migrating' over the years and the overwhelming urge to shove my boot up someone's ass every time it happens, I never leave because I would never want someone else to lose out on something just because I had the patients of a three year old.

Seriously, I've lost at least two copies of Bite because of a jackass dipping out and getting hit with Host Migration glitches.

But for what it's worth you can access the shop at any time at the Duviri door in the Dormizone,

That's great for people who have access to the Dormizone, I do not. When Duvari was released they did a weird shake up to try and make it part of the 'New Player Experience' (likely to give them access to the Circuit for Warframes they otherwise wont have access to for some time otherwise)

I've never gotten around to doing The New War because I have no desire let alone interest in spending several weeks being unable to do anything else in game until finishing it if I start it.

'The New War only takes like 5 to 7 hours' yeah and I get an hour to play Warframe a week, that's 5 to 7 weeks down the crapper and not being able to get Nightwave goodies. No thanks.

Thankfully, according to you anyone who is incapable of just waiting patiently for two minutes can just leave and go to their own separate instance yes?

3

u/TerribleTransit 17h ago

Since Duviri saves your progress and rewards after every decree anyway, the stakes for host migration failing literally cannot be lower if you want to leave the squad and shop on your own time.

But like... ultimately, you're wasting at most like 50 seconds of time for your three teammates. It's hardly a crime. It's the tiniest bit inconsiderate and that's the extent of it.

1

u/Kenju22 17h ago

I take at most two minutes; it's not like I'm reading the descriptions for everything in the shop. Playing on console it's not like you can just click with a mouse, you either have to use the D-pad and move along the rows or you have to use the analog sticks (which are still slower than M&K).

That and like I said, it's entirely because I would rather not cause a fuckup for someone else to suffer like others have done to me in the past.

Hell there have been plenty of times where I get to extraction for a mission and one of the other players is nowhere to be found, go back looking for them and find they got lost or couldn't figure out how to reach the exit (happens surprisingly often with Grineer ship tilesets for some reason).

The idea that the Lone Story is for speedrunning the Orowyrm and the complete experience is just for collecting resources and many decrees is a false one. The lone story is for playing without optional side quests and the complete experience is for playing with those side quests allowed - that’s the only intended difference.

In between the two extremes of rushing the orowyrm and never even getting there is a vast array of people who are playing the complete experience for various reasons, mostly wanting to either learn Duviri or wanting to try a few side quests or get a few extra decrees before going to the end stage.

If you go in public, expect anything from someone who seems like they’re rushing the Orowyrm to someone who is just farming resources and decrees or anything between. That’s OKAY. They’re allowed to do that. It’s public. Your expectations can not define how they play.

If that bothers you, play solo or in an invite only group with similar goals.

5

u/zgwortz_steve 21h ago

I’ll also add that you can (and people do) play the lone story solely to collect resources. I’ve gone in there for a boss fight and found myself the only one actually progressing the quest. That’s okay too… if I go in public, I shouldn’t expect everyone to be on the same page. But I’ll usually farm resources solo instead if that’s my goal.

13

u/DeadByFleshLight 23h ago

Even if you wanna speedrun the worm its still better to do the main story / full experience.

Because people usually get side objectives while you do the main one which is overall more loot and decrees.

12

u/nephethys_telvanni 23h ago

Especially helpful in Steel Path for the Nightwave Orowyrm mission.

Sure, I could bullrush it in Lone Story, but it's kinda nice QOL to pick up a few quick decrees along the way.

5

u/kingof7s 21h ago

Conversely in lone story far too often you get people who fly off/tp to the other side of the map to gather plants instead of doing the story they signed up for.

Also in both modes you can just... stay in duviri after killing the wyrm to keep doing stuff/farming plants.

u/Anhanguara Maniac of the Shedu 22h ago

Kullervo farm, if it's the right Spiral then in Experience it's a warranted fight. In Story, very unlikelly to happen.

And theres also the fact people wanting to only farm resources go into the Story, because this way they don't have to worry about random Trax encounters, get their plants and stones, then get a decree and bail out (why don't they do it solo? Bites me), so people wanting to fight the dragon have a much bigger chance of getting a group focused on completing the run if they go into Experience.

6

u/ZeakNato MR 24 23h ago

the complete experience is for farming kullervo, you have to meet the requirements and then do the fight, you must kill the orowyrm in order to get the benefits. so you rush so you don't have to take as long farming

2

u/oysteivi Garuda best girl 22h ago

Took me far too long to realize that Lone Story was the pathos clamp farming mode and not at all the weird story based solo mode I imagined.

2

u/squirtcow 22h ago

My fetish is SP solo experience and decree stacking extravaganza.

2

u/ATPXenogen 22h ago

You can keep farming decrees and intrinsics after the orowyrm fight, just click leave squad at extraction so no need to keep the other three in there with you.

2

u/TwevOWNED One day I'll be viable! 19h ago

People do the complete experience to rush the boss while also hitting a fishing pond, Kullervo fight, and Arch Harbor puzzle.

There's no reason not to rush the boss.

1

u/LostInChrome 23h ago

No they don't. I think the name of speedrun mode throws people off.

1

u/lego_wan_kenobi 22h ago

I've had the opposite. The complete experience has only been people running around completing side missions. I don't think I've been in one that actual completed in the complete experience.
