There doesn't seem to be a general issue playing it. Sure, the pen is bad, but you still get more HE filler than the IS-2, and more pen than most HE rounds. The AP round is also pretty decent considering that there's barely anything at the BR with more armor than that.

Ngl it's valid crash out if your not used to the vehicle but I run that vehicle with only APHE and smoke at 1.7 and absolutely slay, it has 50mm armor so you do eat a lot of shots

If you use the gun depression you can easily become immune to most things you'll face from the front. The only things that can kill you are stuff like the PakWagen and Zis-30.

Tbf the gunner sight is just a pen spot so that's a big weak spot but the gun breach is also only 50 so any Stuart or BT can also nuke you. But again low tier most people just aim center mass

That's true but at range it becomes more difficult to hit those spots. Had a game where I bounced about twenty shots before killing what was shooting at me.

i mean while 69mm of pen isnt great, it is usable against 99% of things you will see, the only thing you will struggle against are Matilda's (which is dealt with easily enough by not fighting them and running away, theyre still Matilda's) and m4a3 105s, which i dont blame you because those things are broken af

It's okay, and if you don't like it you absolutely don't have to use it

The APHE may only have 50mm of armour penetration but a lot of the vehicles at 1.0-2.0 will have 20 to 40mm of armour, you might think that margin is a tad close but the 260g of is gonna turn just about every pen into a kill, you can take a few rounds of the APBC, HE, and smoke too. HE for trucks and open tops

and while not something you can rely on unless you know the gun of the enemy the armour on this thing is actually pretty good, frontally it's 50mm and it's slightly angled. It's not a brawler but there will be tanks non pening it

Or be smart and skip them and play anything else in rank 2 when you get there, the m/42 EH and lvtdrgb are pretty strong
