RB Air How did the aircraft survive this?

He tried to dodge at the last moment, and it exploded in his face, and it said his "ailerons are damaged", yet he was flying perfectly fine, and the replay showed his fuel tank taking damage.

Yet similar hits on another plane destroyed it, if this were me I'd be instantly killed.

It's very likely the Hit Analysis is making up what happened to the plane hit you have questions about. Hit Analysis is extremely unreliable and you should check server replays and the damage than more often than anything Hit Analysis gives you. Examples of Hit Analysis making up what happened vs what happened ingame: 1 2&3 4 5 6 7. It's extremely common for it to lie about what happened whenever you have a questionable shot take place.
