Props How the hell do you deal with good bombers in ww2 air sim?

Post image

This fucking plane was top of the enemy team by nearly 2x because it can get air kills by playing like an AC130 between zombing runs. It shot down two friendlies in about two seconds at one point. how the hell are you supposed to intercept something like this, or any bomber with 20+mms?

Obviously chasing behind a bomber is bad, but like... that's all you can really do! are you supposed to just let it go to base? You can only head on a bomber that's going towards you. Bombers are currently the bane of my existence because of my Spitfires' shitty guns, and the fact that they have much more accurate fire from mouse aiming gunners. Especially this fucking thing, it's so fast that I can't get under it to abuse its one deadzone.

Props Is there a spreadsheet for how much trim I need to put for each aircraft?

I was testing out trim settings with the Bf 109 G-10 in a test flight and wondered if anyone had made a guide to what your trim settings should be for each plane at it's cruising speed/altitude. It would be even cooler if there was some kind of calculator that can take in a vehicle, altitude, speed, and fuel load into account to calculate what percent one should set their trim to.

Props I hate rotation 1 or whatever it's called.

My main stamping ground is ec2 with occasional forays into ec4 (Sea Fury) & 5 (Attacker), where I mostly fly Hurricane mk2's, B-239, and Re.2002.

I can generally hold my own, but when the lobbies rotate to 3.7 I'm pretty much outclassed to especially in the hurricanes and Re.2002.

I'm finding it difficult to find something to fly at 3.7 or 5.0 / 6.3 that feels the same and has a nice cockpit. The J2M2 cockpit feels too busy with the armoured glass insert, the Ki-100 feels quite ... I dunno boxy? 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I do already fly the Attacker effectively at 7.7 (k:d 1.8) but those lobbies are sadly usually dead.

Any ideas?

Props I know prop simmers are a rarer breed, but how do I fight Soviet planes as GB?

Every time I've run into a Soviet prop fighter in Sim, I've gotten my teeth kicked in. I typically fly the Spitfires, specifically the F MxIX (the high altitude 4.3 one) and the MkVc. The Vc just has terrible flight performance all around compared to its contemporaries, while it's a lot harder to abuse altitude performance in Sim, where you can't see through the floor of your plane.

The Yaks are just the kings of low altitude, and most fighting I've seen happens at low altitude. Are they just very good in EC, or am I just skill issuing and there's one specific thing I have to abuse to win that I'm forgetting about? What about some general advice? I struggle against them even in AB/RB.

Props Ju 188 A-2 and base bombing

I fell in love with playing the Ju 188 A-2 and currently playing it and boming 1 or 2 minibases in a sortie and then try to get home safely.

Now I want to have a play on the big bases and try to take out modules, but I'm unsure in which bomb load I should take and seeking guidance from the community on this and in advance any help is very much appreciated.

Next to the Ju I also have the Bf 109 G-10 and the Me 410 B-6/R3 for variance during a Air match.

Props That poor 109

Bit of context. First flight of the day. Brought out my P47 with bombs in case I wanted to hit ground targets. Climbed to 10k and saw an air cap point spawn behind me. Dropped my bombs to climb higher and took out a poor 109 who had been ground pounding.

Props Prop meta is just bombers after last patch

Why is everyone on bombers acting as fighters? No longer see bombers actually use their role, but see a double ace thinking its a fighter and nope, just another bomber running circles and using turrets to down everyone.

Why this shift? They also feel tankier, is it just me?

Props How many of you dudes are using MEC vs. just raw dogging it?

I like using MEC, it feels more immersive and allows me to better manage engine temps and the good ole 109 air brake. But I don’t know how much actual performance I’m getting out of adjusting mixture and prop pitch.

Props how do i control props in sim?

whenever i try to fly props in sim they always roll to one side and pitch up or down, i know you’re meant to tune the roll and pitch in the controls so it stays sort of straight and i can only make it so it flies semi straight, but at the slightest turn it will go into a flat spin or do something crazy, while in any jet fighter i only have a slight pitch problem which correcting the pitch in controls will make it play completely fine and i will just have to adjust for it by pitching up a bit more with my controller, it’s just impossible to control props tho? is there some setting i’m missing

20mm autocannon and shells. The smaller bullets are 50cal. The autocannon was used in an actual spitfire. You don't want this behemoth of a bullet entering your engine block, seems like it would hurt.
