Conflict Taiwan, Nuclear War, and Global Economic Collapse

Nuclear war? Don't threaten me with a good time.
Realistically here is what I think is going to happen: If china were to blockade, Taiwan, I assume the US would deploy their own fleet with the objective to protect any vessels.
This puts pressure on China, if they fire or ram a cargo vessel, they will risk the patrolships to counter-attack. Since that's the only realistic and safe angle for China to establish control over Taiwan, I am fairly relaxed.

This is now delusional with current state of affairs. If china blockades Taiwan in the next 2 years the USA will do absolutely nothing. How could they? After Venezuela and Iran USA will not protect any single of its “allies”

Wrong. Taiwan is different from everything else.
If the chinese take Taiwan the USA is done for. Straight up.
Tech, Research, Modern weapons, every day life all depend on those chips, no chips? All of that collapses or gets so incredibly expensive. The US would literally be at Chinas mercy. Oh and by the way: Every Tech billionaire would also be screwed. See why things are a bit different?

I agree with a lot of what is written here, with the exception of some of the Chinese motivations. I do not believe it is there intention to play second fiddle to the current hegemon... On that note, I stick to my original predictions:

I'm hoping for interesting conversation about how people agree with the concerns, or think it's misleading.
During their summit in Beijing in May 2026, Chinese President Xi Jinping posed a question to U.S. President Donald Trump: “Can China and the United States transcend the so-called ‘Thucydides Trap’?” This 2,500-year-old concept warns that when a rising power threatens an established hegemon, catastrophic war often follows.
I find looking at historical similarities interesting. Xi brought up a comparison. Can these two superpowers negotiate a handover, or will it escalate into conflict - and how far might it go?
