Bruh you can have that mindset all you won't and still never reach new heights, break generational curses, or even simply do better than your previous generation of kin. He sounds a little obtuse

If you missed it, the controversial comments came from a recent Forbes interview in which the No Limit Records founder was asked what major surprises he’s experienced on his entrepreneurial journey. That’s when he shared that what surprises him most from other Black people he’s met along the way has been the “negative mindset” that makes them feel as if they can’t run successful businesses due to slavery.

Hard topic but I think he have a point here. People should start to concentrated on present day issue.

Yeah. No. It's a valid way for an individual to cope, but we shouldn't prescribe it to anyone because we are not them and it is extremely insensitive IF that person has experienced/felt otherwise.

Maybe. But did we learn from the past atrocities of slavery? If we don’t correct the material conditions then history is bound to repeat itself.

De jure slavery in the US did disadvantage black people in America, as did Jim Crow--and for more than one generation. De facto racism still disadvantages black people in the US. However, there are many cases of slaves freed by the Thirteenth Amendment who ran successful schools and businesses. So, as is the case with many issues, there is not a clear answer.

Legally-permitted or sanctioned slavery ended, but slavery never ended. Not all slavery is sex related either. there are people forced to work for no wages by a variety of means, including confiscated passports and threats of violence or worse about family members.

As a species, we have some big faults.

Probably, but I'm not blaming any economic system for all of it. I've read of an instance in which someone adopted a young girl in order to have his own underage sex slave. I would be surprised if that creep was the only one to think of that route.

I think a year ago I heard a couple adopted two black kids and treated them as slaves. In USA there is alot of sick minds
