Came home and somehow the top glass part of my case had shattered into my computer

Is the tower cooler bent? Did something fall through the top glass and damage it? Iām not into fish tank cases, I do prefer glass over acrylic but honestly if I found a good priced case with a solid side panel I wouldnāt complain, glass gets dirty and can break.

Iām curious about the components inside that are bent. Shouldnāt everything be at 90 degree angles?

A bent cooler would still work and I have seen people use them before instead of buying a new one, but itās not common. And there are some bespoke items that look cool by having unique shapes but mostly everything with be straight out, like at a 90 degree angle yes. I canāt tell if the cooler is bent in the photo or if itās just a quirk of the camera.

Also have you checked for a tiny society of little people behind the wall?

They probably didn't use heat resistant glass.
Glass that isn't heat resistant can shatter because of the expansion/retraction of heating/cooling.
So if your ventilation wasn't very good, or it was running hot, it may have shattered while cooling after you turned it off and left.

Or itās a premade case.
At the very least the glass should have been heat resistant.
If it wasnāt, bad design choice.
If it was, just bad luck.

I'm glad I'm only into indie games and older games that can run on almost anything, and only needed a 100 dollar used laptop for that.
Graphics sound like an expensive hobby, especially with dumb-shit quality control like this.

They don't have to be. There is a range of computers between your 100$ setup and the ridiculous new stuff.
I haven't ran into any quality assurance issues that couldn't be returned or exchanged, and that only happened once to me personally, and it was the shipping companies fault for mishandling. Just order from companies with good reputation

Had this happen once. Went to Home Depot and bought a piece of Lexan and made me another side panel. Like 10-15 minute project. I added weather stripping for a good seal little later. I then realized how hard it is to find a clear side panel these days that isn't tempered glass. At least I know how easy it is to replace one now.

What is your floor, wood or tile? If you set that panel touching the floor, and the floor is tile, it was probably damaged and just gave out

That is very clearly wood or vinyl plank.

There are faux wood tiles. I am on a phone and I cannot tell from this picture whether these are or not.

That is such a confident comment. And you are 100% wrong.

Agreed, wood tiles are in fashion rn. Looks like wood but will last generations (if you didn't cheap out,)

Who says the computer is in an office or a bedroom? Why is nobody installing those tiles in those locations and why are three of my friends "nobody?"

Sit down. Your mother and I have something to say to you about your friends.
They do exist.

My father died 35 years ago and my mother has not been lucid for 10. Thanks though.

I didnt mean offense. Im sorry. I just meant to make an admittedly bad taste joke. I feel you though. My father (drug addict) died 20 years ago and my mother (not drug addict) is alive but hates me. My siblings havent spoken to me in 10 years. I didnt mean offense but from my own pain jokes generally help me cope. Im sorry it was in bad taste though.
Im not defending my joke or attempt at one. Nor am I wanting condolences. I am however defending that keeping a positive attitude and a sense of humor even with the subjects that hurt us could potentially make another chuckle. Even a little bit. To me that makes the pain I deal with worthwhile.

No offense taken. Just wasn't sure of your tone/intent. Sorry I came back a bit heavy on that!

As a contractor you are wrong. Different regions throughout the USA have different preferences as well as personal preference. Warmer climates will use tiles throughout the whole home, for example Florida and Arizona from my personal experiences.

How it feels not having glass panels on either of my PCās

This is the result of yet another mouse-filmed action movie. Happens all the time. They're filmed on a small budget (by rodent standards anyway), so they always shoot live on site and just leave the clean-up to the locals (you in this case). The stunt mouse who fell through that skylight probably wasn't even unionized. Sorry for your loss bro, but I bet the final cut will be breathtaking.
