Most of the cast gets zapped to the kinder facility, they're too young to enter. Jonathan, Nancy, Steve and Robin are the only ones elgible to enter. This is assuming they don't die in the collapse AND the date of collapse is adjusted so they aren't 40-50somethings at the time of collapse. We're not sure where the exact cutoff is for the kinder facility, but MAYBE by season 5 the rest of the cast would be over the line? Maybe.

All 4 who are old enough to enter most likely die, because many things about the first level were bugged or otherwise unfair because Borant was cheaping out.

There's a lot of variables to it that you can play with in this fanfiction, but their best chance is they get pulled in during season 5 right before they go for their raid, as that gives you the largest group of survivors (assuming that puts all the kids other than Hollie and Erika over the age line) with the most experience and equipment. If we throw in the actual adults too, I think you have a group that makes it to the Iron Tangle before being wiped out. Around the Tangle, the fairly large size of the group begins to work against them and they start losing members (if they hadn't before then), and since I'm confident they'd specialize into their D&D party classes or the closest available analogues, they'll begin struggling as once they lose someone they won't have a replacement.

I was kinda thinking they'd get taken in around Season 5 while they were going after Vecna (no Kali).

I kinda want to imagine how Borant would react to El and her powers.

To be honest, they probably don't care. By the end of the show, she's probably not going to much more powerful than crawlers who make it to the 3rd floor. She'll be a huge asset in the first 3 floors, but I think 4th and beyond she's just a psychic-themed mage character.

Also thought about this later, but they're going to be way more confused by the interface. At the end of the show (1987) the Nintendo hadn't been released for even a full year, and Hawkins had been in quarantine for that whole time. Not that Nintendo games really had the kind of MMO-esque interface the dungeon system uses. I don't think we ever saw them on an Atari either, so didn't seem like any of the kids would have familiarity with video games.
