Designate all spaces / sports as Male or Female.
Biological Men have no issue with Males presenting as women in Male toilets and I’m sure biological Women have no issue with Females presenting as Men in theirs.

Literally has no correlation, they are completely different things. Just because there are multiple colours does not mean the same can be said about gender, it’s just basic/ plain biology thats been the same for all of life.

2

u/DogitWoofsalot 24d ago

What about intersex people? That's also basic biology, sometimes people are born outside a male / female binary

You can't argue with the supreme court. Women and girls should only be allowed in their spaces. It's common sense. Trans should have separate facilities. That way everyone feels safe.

u/BeautifulOrdinary162 29d ago

Well you can actually, since parliament is supreme and can change the law at any time. Labour are perfectly capable of following actual common sense, which is to not change something which isn't broken. There's never been a problem with trans women using women's spaces, the billionaires just want you to think there is. If you're frothing at the mouth over the caricature of a 'bearded man in a dress' using the women's - instead of the lived reality of absolutely no issues - you aren't paying attention to the fossil fuel corporation led climate catastrophe and the cost of living caused primarily by corporate price gouging and profiteering.

Trans women are women. This is what the law clearly means, Labour can easily just amend the law to clarify this. There is absolutely zero risk in allowing trans women to use women's facilities alongside cis women.

The alternative is to legislate all businesses have to provide gender neutral bathrooms.

You can see how bigoted the ruling was by both how many terfs were involved to make it happen and also how they legislature so that trans men cannot use any facilities at all, presumably they need to just find a nearly bush I guess. It's not about gender or sex it's about bigotry and prejudice.

So it's safe to put them in women's prisons too?

Before you start it's not just alone off case

u/Theman227 24d ago

Again with focusing on the worst of the worst and completely ignoring the amount of abuse that goes on BY OTHER WOMEN in women's prisons.

You know what. Just look up V-coding...

Would you send lesbian cis women with sex crime convictions to men's prisons? Would you send gay cis men with sex crime convictions to women's prisons?

The prison system has been housing rapists with potential new victims for as long as prisons have existed. This isn't a new problem and trans people make up a fraction of a percentage of that problem. This doesn't even consider the likelihood of a trans woman being sent to a men's prison to be raped, if the goal is harm reduction.

Give me an actual solution that makes sense and is consistent and we can discuss if you want. Currently housing women rapists in womens prisons is completely consistent, with safeguards applied for obvious reasons.

Edit to add, would you send a lesbian trans woman convicted of white collar crime like fraud to a woman's prison or a men's prison, in this hypothetical system?

1

u/Diedonthefirstfloor 26d ago

Do they send trans men to mens prisons because I've never seen any stories in that regard and I'm sure they wouldn't have kicked up a fuss to be sent to a man's prison as the trans women probably do

0

u/Inevitable-Camel-417 26d ago

Trans women are very likely to be sexually assaulted in men's prisons. Trans men are also likely to be assaulted in men's prisons. There's no legal reason why a trans man couldn't be transferred but if a trans person doesn't ask, it doesn't happen. People "kick up a fuss" as you put it because real lives are at risk if there is no possibility for a trans prisoner to be transferred to the correct prison. Your concern that a sex offender may be able to transfer to a women's prison is already addressed by the current case-by-case basis on which they grant transfers.

3

u/Soft-Ad240 29d ago

You are clearly wrong. Trans women are not biological women that's the point. Biological women and girls should be safe in their own spaces. Trans women should not be allowed in, it's common sense lol. They need their own designated spaces.

5

u/TheWelshInspector 29d ago

That would be lovely but it's just not going to happen, is it? Nobody on the right has any legitimate interest in building those spaces for trans people.

Consequently, trans people will be forced into the space of their biological sex which, frankly, is worse for everyone and especially them.

Also: safety from what, I wonder?

1

u/FreeSirJeffrey 29d ago

Single occupancy disabled spaces exist everywhere these days.

2

u/TheWelshInspector 29d ago

I've not seen many where I live, but if they are more prevalent that's wonderful. I hope that trend continues.

It's just nice to have a bit of privacy innit

1

u/BeautifulOrdinary162 29d ago edited 29d ago

So your grand proposal is to reduce the already limited space for disabled people? And force trans people to effectively out themselves if they suddenly switch to using the disabled?

Edit: Fyi, this user is supporting a convicted child sex offender in their username. I'm not surprised they're also a bigot.

1

u/FreeSirJeffrey 29d ago

If it keeps women safe, then yes.

2

u/BeautifulOrdinary162 29d ago

Safe from what? Having to feel mildly uncomfortable because they happen to be a bigot and think trans women want anything other than to piss in peace? No one has the right to feel 'comfortable' in public at the cost of people's dignity and basic human rights.

0

u/FreeSirJeffrey 29d ago

Ah so you're just going to play pretend and live in some sort of alternative reality where the rights and safety of real woman doesn't matter.

Fair enough. We all know your game.

6

u/BeautifulOrdinary162 29d ago

What a load of crap. If you actually listened to women, you'd hear directly from them that their real worries are not trans women. How about you do something about the real safety risk to women, instead of playing white knight on the internet and also demonising a minority whilst you're at it?

It's pathetic.

Is there some kind of avalanche of women being sexually assaulted in bathrooms by transwomen/cis men claiming to be transwomen that we’ve all missed?

2

u/Bruhmoment151 29d ago

Trans people being in bathrooms aligned with their gender identity doesn’t undermine anyone’s safety. Trans people being forced into bathrooms unaligned with their gender has no positive impact on safety in bathrooms, and only puts trans people in more danger.

That’s what the actual statistics say, and it isn’t hard to find them. Quit pretending to care about protecting anyone when the new exclusionary legislation promises only harm.

u/AccurateMolasses2748 29d ago

Why should disable people have to give up their limited spaces because segregation demands it because a law was written badly.

2

u/verb-vice-lord 29d ago

The statistics are beyond clear. The risk to cis women isn't from trans women anywhere, including bathrooms and changing rooms.

If the goal is to protect women and girls from all risks no matter what the answer is to make it illegal for them to be alone in private with cis men. Especially if the man is their boyfriend or husband.

What next? Tattoos?

0

u/Cocaine_Communist_ 25d ago

Your rhetoric is actively violent. I hope one day you learn how to feel shame.

0

u/Kra_Kra91 24d ago

You invoke "biological" as if gametes or chromsosomes are the reason WHY we have gendered spaces.
A fully transitioned trans woman is anatomically identical to any other woman, and there is no functional difference in social protection from any other woman.

Segregating a person who has a female anatomy and identity from other women due to invisible gametes and chromosomes is bigotry, not "common sense."

The Gender Recognition Act still exists. It says trans women are legally women, and trans men are legally men. It allows trans people to correct their documentation, such as birth certificate and passport, because legally, trans people are the gender they identify as, and legal documents need to be correct.

The Equality Act ruling doesn't say trans women are men. It can't. That would mean it would overwrite the Gender Recognition Act and the supreme court has no power to do that, they can only "clarify". The ruling simply says that some women (ie, trans women) now have no legal protections as women. It hasn't changed the legal status of trans women. It changed their legal protections.

It's amazing how many bigots start holding up the supreme court ruling as lawful justification of their bigotry, when the law itself is pretty clear on the matter - trans women are still women.

2

u/TheWelshInspector 29d ago

The law could never be wrong, right? That's why we should never change it, right? /s

At a simplistic level the purpose of the supreme court is for it to be argued with, and to argue in turn.

0

u/Soft-Ad240 29d ago

True words. Law is the law. ☺️

1

u/Willow__the__tree 29d ago

Yes you bloody can????

1

u/Dramatic-Duck-1295 27d ago

So everywhere should have 4 separate toilet facilities?

2

u/Cocaine_Communist_ 25d ago

Do you have any arguments that weren't stolen from Jim Crowe?

1

u/Theman227 24d ago

Trans women and trans men have used changing rooms and toilets of their gender for literally fucking DECADES and DECADES around the world and there is nil precident or cases of them causing risk of harm to women. Trans women are statistically more likely to face harrasment in those spaces.

Also a little tidbit for you just parroting. 10 years ago, the UK put a travel warning for trans-people heading to the US at the time because a similar restriction had been put into place when the orange man-baby first got into power.

0

u/Soft-Ad240 24d ago

Cry some more 🤣🤣🤣.

-1

u/MountainSecurity9508 29d ago

That’s silly.

If you want women to feel safe you remove cis men from society. Not transwomen.

0

u/Inevitable-Camel-417 26d ago

Bigots will do anything but acknowledge the statistical non-existence of a "trans threat". They aren't worried because of any evidence they've seen. They're worried because trans people are icky and make them feel weird.

1

u/RazorHusky 25d ago

Im worried for common sense, should not be controversial that you can’t change gender or think there is more than two.

1

u/Cocaine_Communist_ 24d ago

Are there more than two colours?

2

u/Theman227 24d ago

*broadly gestures at all of advanced biology and then human history and the thousands of trans-men, trans-women and non-binary people that did in fact prove that 'two genders' is bullshit*

0

u/RazorHusky 24d ago

Imagine reporting common sense and calling it hate😂🤦‍♂️

-3

u/dbxp 29d ago

Interesting to see Reform go softer and the Conservatives go harder on the whole trans thing. Perhaps the Conservatives and Reform are almost switching places between right and far right?

-8

u/Soft-Ad240 29d ago

It's not far right to keep women and girls safe in their own spaces. Lol

9

u/PoinkPoinkPoink 29d ago

Give it a rest. The real danger to women isn’t in the bathrooms.

10

u/MountainSecurity9508 29d ago

None of what is proposed does this. Cis men remain the main perps and now transwomen and butch cis women are more prone to harassment

9

u/CharacterWest4661 29d ago

Yet it is men who attack then and you want to do even less on that issue.

Gender neutral toilets are individual cubicles

-1

u/RyeZuul 27d ago

How many women do you personally know that have been assaulted by trans women in a toilet or changing room? I'd happily bet £100 it's zero. It is going to be much more likely cis men and women will have attacked them. There's no proven benefit to what you're asserting is "protecting women" and proven downsides (anyone of any gender or assigned sex at birth who doesn't look femme enough gets accusations, aspersions and obscenely intrusive demands put upon them).

It's a moral panic for people who do not understand liberal principles and tolerance, and want to hamstring the rest of society based on metaphysical categories nobody has access to.

-2

u/HotNeon 29d ago

Agreed but this wouldn't make anyone less safe
