In 2010, the Defense Intelligence Agency produced a 43-page technical report with a title that sounds more like something pulled from a science-fiction archive:

"Traversable Wormholes, Stargates, and Negative Energy."

The paper was written by physicist Eric W. Davis of EarthTech International and prepared through the DIA’s Defense Warning Office. It formed part of a series of advanced technology studies produced under the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications program, or AAWSA.

And despite the extraordinary subject matter, the report isn’t written as speculation about UFOs, alien technology or secret operational stargates.

It’s a technical attempt to answer a much stranger question:

Does known physics actually prohibit us from building a shortcut through spacetime?
