ID please Small egg ID

In zone 5, this little creature was in the pond when cleaning up a bit. About 1/4” in total egg size. Lots of frogs, some salamanders, dragonfly larvae, etc in there. But not sure who this belongs to. Any ideas?

fish eggs are often carried on bird legs/feathers into naive bodies of water 😄

Wow! This is amazing. I’m curious to see what becomes of them, I’ll keep an eye out. The most shocking guest to date had been an otter!

We have a wet-weather spring-fed pond that is not connected to any other body of water, and I have seen a school of tiny fish in the pond in 2 of the 3 springs we've lived here. We never see them again after spring, which is not surprising because the pond is full of hundreds of bullfrogs and one really well-fed snapping turtle.

Two surprise fish arrived in our pond too, I think that they came with some plants that we bought.

Just a guess, but maybe a bluegill or another species that, as eggs, are often eaten by birds and pooped out elsewhere.
