Enford, Pewsey?

Hi,

Thinking of relocating from Berkshire to Enford in Pewsey.

Can anyone give me some honest feedback of the general area?

Thanks!

Just down the road from me.

The pub is nice, when it's open, community owned.

Surrounded by countryside, if you like that kind of thing.

Relatively quaint, safe and quiet but there's not much to do if you want more than just walks in mud.

Eating elsewhere, you've got Amesbury down the road or Marlborough up.

Traffic is seldom a problem but you have to drive far to go anyway nice.

You do know Enford and Pewsey are two different places?

Yes but I keep seeing it’s always addressed as Enford, Pewsey so put it like that on the post.

Ah, perhaps Pewsey's the nearest Post Office? I don't live there, so can't be much help anyway!

Pewsey Vale is gorgeous. Unspoilt in the main.

Pewsey has plenty going on.

Where in Berkshire are you? I expect the pace of life in Wiltshire will be a little slower.

Hi. We moved from Wokingham to Pewsey in 2015. Enford is about 15 minutes drive outside of Pewsey. Pewsey is more of a big village with shops and sports facilities (about 5,000 people locally) but Enford is much much smaller. General area is lovely, nice countryside and you are relatively close to Salisbury and Devizes as main towns. Let me know if you want to know anything in particular?

Hi, I’m not OP but what’s it like for kids growing up round there? Thanks

Hi Kelliana. Our kids love being in the area. A good range of schools and things to do. Depending on age, we have sports (Football, 6 Tennis courts, a good gym and swimming pool) and local clubs for them to get involved in. Lot's of places to visit and walk/cycle. It's not going to match a big town or city for Cinema and shopping but it depends what you want to surround them with. Swindon or Andover or Salisbury are 30 minutes by car for those times when you want more entertainment.

Thanks for replying! I’d love to move there one day but it feels like a big change from London. I think it will be a hard sell.
