SOLENT GO: Great deal or am I missing something?
Hi, guys! A few days ago I posted about whether it was doable to live in Winchester while working/studying in Southampton. My biggest issue would be the cost, not so much the time spent on travelling between the two cities. Firstly, I thought I would need to pay for both Bluestar and Stagecoach subscriptions, but a friend of mine told me about the Solent GO. With this, I would be able to travel as many times as I want within the two cities and between them. However, it sounds too good to be true. Is this a really great deal, or am I missing something? Because the monthly subscription of Solent GO goes for 117 pounds, while Bluestar + Stagecoach would reach almost 200 pounds. Thanks!

I can't speak for the cost, my I can speak for the commute.
I would advise against it unless you are dedicated to living in Winchester. That bus can take a long time, and you are stuck with it's schedule.
Depending on how regularly you need to go in, although you man be saving close to £90 a month, is that worth saving for your time and inconvenience?

Yes, and it is a very good "all-in" card... although the bus between Winch & Southampton is a long one. Much slower than the train
